When we first saw this house we didn't like the name! We thought perhaps it was named after a person called Shirley! We felt if we bought it we would have to change the name. However when looking into it we decided that 'Sher' (or alternative spelling 'Cher') as a name was 'dear'. Sher' as a place is 'clear. And 'Lea' is well known as a 'meadow'.
