Keith's home cooking. A guide to my cooking exploits. I haven’t posted for a while partly due to Christmas and partly owing to my wife having had a spell in hospital. All is well now so more posts coming soon. Before I get round to posting the other curry recipes I thought I’d do something simple this weekend. The left over fondant from Mary Berry’s Fondant Fancies. Has been sitting the fridge for ages so I thought I’d see if it was usable. So, dipped cup cakes it is. Self Raising Flour, sifted. For the ...

https://keithalderton.wordpress.com/2012/12/07/tarka-dhal-1
Keith's home cooking. A guide to my cooking exploits. Tarka Dhal #2 →. I made two of these, one a smooth one made with the Masoor dhal (red split lentils) and the other amore textured one made with polished Moong dhal. This one is more spicy than the other but you can of course leave out the chillies if you prefer. Masoor dhal (red split lentils). 1 TEAspoons or to taste. Ghee or unsalted butter. Onion, finely chopped. Garlic peeled and finely chopped. Dried red chillies, roughly chopped. You are comment...

Keith's home cooking. A guide to my cooking exploits. Big curry weekend coming up. Chicken Chaat →. I really liked these the best part of the meal. Cooked in advance and then fried again for a minute or just before serving they were a great accompaniment to champagne as a pre-starter. We only used some of them the rest are in the freezer for another day. Ingredients (Makes about 30 small bhajiyas). Large Onions, sliced then cut into 1 cm segments and separated. 2 (c 350g in total). Oil for deep frying.

Easy recipes that almost certainly work. Smartie Cookies. Just how cool are they? They taste amazing, and they look amazing. Whoever first thought of this idea is a culinary genius. I recently gave these to a friend for her birthday, and she said ‘OMG! 8217;, presumably in a good way… But I love making them. 1 tsp baking powder. 200g butter, softened. 1 egg, beaten. 2 – 3 tubes of smarties (I used two tubes, and SOMEONE ate the other *looks innocent*). Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4/180 C/ 160 C fan.

Scary Pumpkin Muffins! | asmallcookeryconfession
https://asmallcookeryconfession.wordpress.com/2012/11/02/scary-pumpkin-muffins
Easy recipes that almost certainly work. I don’t like pumpkins. I really hate them. Orange and squidgy and just ugh! But as it is Halloween, I decided to make some Pumpkin Muffins. And, although they sound disgusting, they actually taste good – a bit like carrot cake. 250g pumpkin puree (boil a pumpkin till it’s soft, and then mash it up or use a blender). 1 tsp baking powder. 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda. Optional) 150g chocolate chips or raisons. Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5. OMG Smartie Cookies →.

Easy recipes that almost certainly work. Lazy Microwave Brownies :o. Okay, I don’t know if these count as ‘cooking’, but they are a nice lazy pudding that doesn’t require much effort. Please don’t hold it against me. I found this recipe on mums.net, and I have to say it works just fine! You will need one mug, and a microwave. 2 tbsp plain flour. 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa. 1 tbsp vegetable oil. A tiny pinch of salt. Combine all the dry ingredients together in a mug. Just like magic…. Kentucky Writers | Just another WordPress.com weblog
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Kids and the Truth. March 22, 2007 by keithalc06. When my daughter Tara was 3 years old, she and her daddy decided to make me a flower bed and plant some flowers to go in it. Tara was so excited to go pick out the flowers that she wanted to plant for me. I wasn’t so excited about it because I have a black thumb and kill every flower I get, but for Tara’s enjoyment I acted like I couldn’t wait for Mothers Day. Here is a good reason to why you shouldn’t lie to your childr...
