He has a Masters degree as well as a Doctorate from Rhodes University with two theses on the early history of East London. I like writing . . . My writing career (what there is of it) started with my being pissed off with my teachers. I went to a little primary school at Howick during the 1950s and I absolutely loved writing. While my friends would mope around saying to their mothers, I’m bored! What can I do? I used to occupy myself either going for long rides on my bicycle (it used to be safe to do that in those days) or sitting with pencil and paper writing. I always entered local writing competitions but guess what?
