Keizer Heritage Foundation, Inc. was formed in October, 1988 to move and restore the old 1916 Keizer Schoolhouse and to convert it into a multicultural center and museum, serving Keizer and surrounding communities. This building is the property of Keizer Heritage Foundation, Inc. and will be maintained for future generations. Keizer Heritage Center - History - Part 1

History of The Old School. In 1916, The Old School was built in the Craftsman style of architecture. It had four rooms and a basement with two playrooms and a wood furnace under the stairs. They used just two of the four rooms for the 66 students. The first teachers were Cora Miller (Clark) and Anna Lindgren (Myers). By the mid-20's, all four rooms were in use. Each room had a blackboard, a picture of George Washington and a large school clock. Site Designed by Andrew Jackson Graphic Design.

Tue and Thurs (2pm – 4pm). Sat (10am – 4pm). Now through September 15th new exhibit on display. The Foundation has been collecting historical artifacts from the community for years. One large room in the school has been devoted to the Keizer Heritage Museum — the first ever for Keizer. Now Keizer residents have a place to connect with the past and to learn about the agricultural heritage that surrounds Keizer. The Museum also will have special exhibits throughout the year for special events or dates.
