Ka wai, ka piko; ka piko, ka wai. We believe that the water of Kawainui. Is the center, the navel, of our community. Ke Kahua O Kūaliʻi is working with State Parks to cleanup, and revitalize a portion of Kawainui for public use. We want to see Kawainui being used by the community as a place to learn about Hawaiʻi and the culture of Hawaiʻi and to do that, we need the help of volunteers, lots of volunteers! We are a grassroots 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization with a big mission. Kailua, HI 96734.

Respecting traditional religious and cultural practices. We believe that the waters of Kawainui should be honored as the Piko, the navel, of our Kailua community. Welcome to Ke Kahua O Kūaliʻi. Ke Kahua O Kualii is a grassroots 501(c)(3) located in Kailua along Kawainui, Oʻahu's largest wetland. Along this beautiful wetland, nestled beneath the Ko'olau mountains and overseen by the famous Olomana ridge (pictured above), we are rehabilitating and restoring the land, revitalizing the waters, and creating gardens with native plants to support traditional cultural learning opportunities about this beautiful place, Kawainui.
