Kekougelato, we understand that the texture of our gelato may not have the "creaminess" or "smoothness" of what can be called "traditional" gelato, but we assure you, this is not a mistake! Stabilizers are added to gelato to make them soft (a.k.a creamy) and to keep this soft texture over a long period of time. At Kekou, we do not use any stabilizers. Listed below are examples of stabilizers:. Locust Bean Gum/Carob Bean Gum. Negatively affects the immune system.

Plus; Other Offerings. All flavours are made in house. We make our own base, in house, in our open kitchen: prepared, pasteurized and aged. We use real fruit and real tea leaves as the basis of our Gelato. We are also 100% stabilizer free. We used the Effe Vertical Mixer, which incorporates air into the gelato naturally and delicately, thus taking longer to produce each batch than the typical horizontal batch freezer. We believe the result is worth it :-).

Tuesday, 30 September 2014. My coworker and I were looking for a good dessert place and I came across Kekou Gelato House which serves Durian gelato! I think Durian's actually pretty good if you can get past the stinky smell. I couldn't wait to see what it would taste like in gelato form! Soursop and Spicy Mango.
