Music of Living: December 2009
http://jackiemchunt.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Light for my Path. Of all the symbols of the Christmas season, I think Light is my favorite. Candles in the window and lights on the tree bring to mind those beloved words from John 1: “In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.”. Yet] you made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.”. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hold tight to the sounds of the music of living. Hold them near while they're here,. And don't wait for tomorrow.

Music of Living: A Few "Aunt Frankie" Stories
http://jackiemchunt.blogspot.com/2009/06/few-aunt-frankie-stories.html
Saturday, June 6, 2009. A Few "Aunt Frankie" Stories. Aunt Frankie’s memorial service last Saturday lasted for almost two hours and would have gone even longer if my brother Tom had not cut the sermon short. If we could all put our stories of Aunt Frankie into one volume, what a book it would make! Here’s one I never heard until last Saturday:. 8221; she called. “You’re going to get yourself killed.”. 8221; Aunt Frankie whispered back, “Do you? Excitedly, the voice responded, “Yes! The thing about Aunt F...

Music of Living: She's Home

Wednesday, May 27, 2009. June 9, 1909 - May 27, 2009. Of stepping ashore and finding it Heaven. Of touching a hand and finding it God's. Of breathing the air and finding it celestial. Of waking up in Glory and finding it Home. But oh, how we'll miss her! For you and your family, I'm so sorry to hear of Aunt Frankie's loss. I know you're rejoicing that she has made it home, but I can tell that she will be sorely missed. I will be praying for you. May 29, 2009 at 8:58 AM. May 29, 2009 at 9:47 AM. Chasing R...

Music of Living: My brother, hero, and friend
http://jackiemchunt.blogspot.com/2009/11/thanks-so-much-to-those-of-you-who.html
Friday, November 13, 2009. My brother, hero, and friend. Thanks so much to those of you who prayed for Brad during his health scare and for Blake while he served in the Middle East. Brad has been able to continue mission work in Peru and is now back in the States for a few weeks. Blake has also made it safely home. And - so hard to believe - my brother Tom has gone home to Heaven. Our prayers have all been answered. I've finally arrived. The healing that had been delayed has now been realized. Tom was a ...

Music of Living: October 2008
http://jackiemchunt.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 27, 2008. Friendship Church held its annual Homecoming service yesterday morning, something I look forward to every year. I love learning more about the history of the church and the lives of some of the old-time saints. After morning worship there's always a huge meal followed by a quiet evening at home. That's how I came to be watching. Well, I guess I agree, but how about just opening one's mouth? Doesn't the talker assume that he has something to say that someone else wants to hear?

Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Cure for the Common Life. It wasn't a typical way for the young adults in our class to spend a Friday evening, but they participated whole-heartedly. Maybe it's because we've been working our way through Max Lucado's book. Cure for the Common Life,. That is how the body of Christ is supposed to work. It was a moving thing to witness. Labels: Cure for the Common Life. Saturday, August 16, 2008. New Kid on the Block. The night before school began, I was in pain from a root canal g...

Music of Living: February 2009
http://jackiemchunt.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 28, 2009. I’m home. Alone. For the first time in I-don’t-know-when. I’ve slept in. Read a book. Read the newspaper - and it was actually in order. (Around our house, the sports section is usually on top, courtesy of Brayden.) I can really enjoy a certain amount of solitude. I’m already lonesome. Just last Saturday there were eight of us here. In addition to our usual four were Blake, Brad, Michelle, and little Tyler, here for a short while before saying another long goodbye. Brent has ...

Music of Living: November 2008

Saturday, November 15, 2008. My Aunt Lu was my “fun” aunt. She and my mother’s brother, Uncle Roland, were unable to have children of their own, so they enjoyed everyone else’s. Once a month or more, they would make the trip from across the state for a weekend visit with Grandma Mary who, after her stroke, lived first with us and later in a nursing home. It was always a treat to awaken on Saturday morning and find that Uncle Roland and Aunt Lu had arrived while I was asleep. For many years she could not ...
