Playing soccer. And now this! Yep, Nick is hobbling around on a crutch. But it's not as bad as you may think. Nick got another souvenir of our time in Honduras to match this one. If this trend continues, we'll have a portrait of Nick's entire skeleton by the time we leave next year! Friday, October 03, 2014.

In Honduras, vendors (especially women) create elaborate and beautifully-made aprons to help them take money and make change on the streets. I've always been in awe of those aprons. I mean think of all the possibilities for all those pockets! Saturday, February 21, 2015. And this week we celebrated another milestone in Honduras as Nick begins a new great adventure―adulthood! A special-ordered cheesecake for this special occasion! With all the ac...

But, as they always do, the students in El Nido made this watercolor experiment their own. They were enthusiastic and I had to run to town to purchase additional paint to accommodate our budding artists. But the result is a new art installation on the rec room walls. They went to work drawing the grids. We certainly discovered some talent with this project.

La Paz is a small, friendly colonial city where friends and family can safely meet in the central park, even late into the evening. After a good night's ...

Monday, June 29, 2015. Hitting Homers with my Homies. Ever since I graduated from high school, I've had a lot of free time on my hands. That is, until I found three baseball gloves I had shoved in my suitcase at the last minute when I was packing to come to Honduras. I started playing catch with some boys during a soccer game a few days later, and the boys were hooked. There were long lines of kids waiting to shove their hand in the worn glove and catch the baseball. He had heard about our team practicin...

Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Don't Let Them Think Less of Us. I was reading my Bible and quickly read over 1 Timothy 4:12. I continued to read verses 13 and 14 before what I read hit me. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.". My life is happening right now. Your teenage years are some of the great...
