Kelly in Bangladesh

Ray Kelly on a tour with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Bangladesh. Dec 2005 - Sept 2006. Monday, August 14, 2006. Last blog from Bangladesh? No matter how bad things are here, they pale when I hear from colleagues around the World. My friends, Arnold and Akke are in Africa. The messages I receive from them, and others, can be mind-blowing. It can be depressing to think that human beings can behave like this. What can we do? Posted by Ray Kelly @ 9:39 PM. Thursday, August 03, 2006. It will be good to find p...

Kelly in Bangladesh: It's a mad, mad World

http://kellyinbangladesh.blogspot.com/2006/06/its-mad-mad-world.html

Ray Kelly on a tour with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Bangladesh. Dec 2005 - Sept 2006. Thursday, June 08, 2006. It's a mad, mad World. Much for good intentions, eh? The wet season started well, we had a week of nearly constant downpours. Travel to half of the clinics was by boat, as the roads and bridges get washed away. Now it has stopped, the rivers have dropped again, so we are back on the roads. Only now the roads are worse than before! Enough for now, it is nine at night and I must sleep.

Ray Kelly on a tour with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Bangladesh. Dec 2005 - Sept 2006. Thursday, November 03, 2005. Welcome to my blog. I am Ray Kelly, a 38 year old living in Newcastle upon Tyne. I have been lucky enough to be selected to work with the charity, Medecin Sans Frontieres. In December I am off to Bangladesh for nine months. I leave behind my lovely wife and my two gorgeous daughters. Why? Not sure I can fully answer that at the moment, but will try to in time. Posted by Ray Kelly @ 3:30 PM.

Kelly in Bangladesh: December 2005

Ray Kelly on a tour with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Bangladesh. Dec 2005 - Sept 2006. Tuesday, December 27, 2005. Hi there everyone. I am back on the web after a 3 day absence. Nobody had phones here for that long, apart from local calls. It is something we get used to. Inconvenient. How would businesses manage like that in England, I wonder? Posted by Ray Kelly @ 9:10 PM. Friday, December 23, 2005. Posted by Ray Kelly @ 8:10 PM. Thursday, December 22, 2005. Posted by Ray Kelly @ 8:08 AM. As you can see...

Kelly in Bangladesh: May 2006

http://kellyinbangladesh.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

Ray Kelly on a tour with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Bangladesh. Dec 2005 - Sept 2006. Sunday, May 28, 2006. So he is fired. I have not seen a tumble drier anywhere in Bangladesh. We have a journalist/author with us at the moment. He is visiting ten MSF missions for a book. As soon as I find out the title (not decided yet) I will let you all know. That is all for now. I am finishing late at night as my lunch break was cut short. I will squeeze in an extra post in the week. Posted by Ray Kelly @ 8:31 AM.

Ray Kelly on a tour with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Bangladesh. Dec 2005 - Sept 2006. Wednesday, January 18, 2006. An end to the silence. Posted by Ray Kelly @ 4:19 AM. Tuesday, January 10, 2006. Tried to load an entry 3 times. Posted photos and retyped a long entry 3 times and each time the sodding phone line cut off half way through. Might try again tomorrow. Posted by Ray Kelly @ 12:47 AM. Wednesday, January 04, 2006. Posted by Ray Kelly @ 10:11 PM. Newcastle, Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom.

January 14, 2008 · 9:07 pm. Just another day in the salt mines. I just pulped this patient’s tooth! Filed under dental school. January 13, 2008 · 10:19 pm. Ice cream is also awesome! I always have a hard time enjoying Sunday evenings because I know I have the entire week ahead a me – 5 days of battling tooth decay – yeah! I did not even leave the house today, only stuck my hand out the door to grab the newspaper. And that was enough for me – too freakin cold! January 11, 2008 · 5:27 pm. Eric told me I wi...

City mama style, boots books blah blah blah, 90s nostalgia, vintage, short haircuts forever. July 30, 2012. The Time In Between. By David Bergen (2006). Emphasizes that visiting a place does not mean you know that place. Beautifully explores the unmappable spaces of grief and loss. Combines intellectual inquiry (memory, trauma, mourning) with lush, tactile description (a typhoon, fresh bread, thin wrists). Labels: three-bullet book review. May 14, 2012. By Alan Hollinghurst (2011). Labels: three-bullet b...

My new domain is amwriterblog.wordpress.com. See you there. Recently I’ve found myself at a crossroads with my novel. I’m not quite sure where it’s going or how I’m going to get there. I doubt myself and my ability, my talent. I have written scenes, character sketches, setting sketches, and the like, but actual chapters? Eat your heart out! I'm a full-time working mom, and I write. Budapest

Sunday, April 11, 2010. Well everyone, it's been a great run. I have really enjoyed trying out this blogging thing while living here in the Pest. However, my time is coming to an end in less than 12 hours and so too the blog will be coming to an end. Let's hope that someday my world travels and blog will pick back up again. However, before I call it done, I should fill you in on what has been going on for the last few weeks - well besides the working part. It's been a great run. Friday, March 19, 2010.
