Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody else has thought." Albert Szent-Gyorgyi. Sunday, November 12, 2006. As I'm writing this, Remembrance Day has passed. I spent the morning at the local cenotaph, and along with thousands of other Canadians, I adorned a poppy on my lapel, as a gesutre of recognition and respect for the sacrifices made by our fallen soldiers. That freedom was armed conflict - it is not glorified if you remember the sacrifces made by those players.

Lauren Burger: Wolfe, in all his glory
http://laurenburger.blogspot.com/2006/12/wolfe-in-all-his-glory.html
Reflections on Public History. Monday, December 18, 2006. Wolfe, in all his glory. Three good friends and I just got back from a 4-day road trip to Quebec City. Though we spent most of our time in Vieux Quebec. On Saturday we ventured as far as Battlefields National Park - better known as the Plains of Abraham. It was a damp, chilly afternoon, and we didn't linger very long on the windy Plains before going to get a big bowl of chocolat chaud. Second, I realized, the plaque tells its colourful story first.

http://bryanandrachuk.blogspot.com/2007/05/my-digital-history-internship.html
The pastime of past time. Bryan andrachuk's public history blog. My Digital History Internship. As I noted in my last post. I am currently working with Bill Turkel. On a digital history internship. I'm using MIT's Exhibit software. To create a website that documents street name changes in London. The idea came out of a major paper I wrote last term on the same topic. The bylaw that changed the name, and, where possible, I may opt to include a little social history behind the name change. It's fine becaus...

The newest computer can merely compound, at speed, the oldest problem in the relations between human beings, and in the end the communicator will be confronted with the old problem, of what to say and how to say it. Edward R. Murrow. Friday, June 01, 2007. Something or other, and erythema nodosium. I found myself stifling a giggle, as his words brought to mind Angela Lansbury, the apprentice witch in Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Something or other, erythema nodosium. What was I thinking? And then take the F...

The newest computer can merely compound, at speed, the oldest problem in the relations between human beings, and in the end the communicator will be confronted with the old problem, of what to say and how to say it. Hoping nobody was walking past listening Emily asked me what type of connection. "Residential? The Steve.museum project. The brief elation of my epiphany was r...

Edward R. Murrow. Wednesday, March 07, 2007. To my dismay I woke up this morning and it was already March 7, 2007. What happened to January?
