Work In Progress - From the Studio of Kelly Singleton: May 2014
http://kellysingleton.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 11, 2014. Slowly making progress on the bison painting. This is where I left off on it yesterday. I spent most of the day working on it refining the grasses mostly. There's A LOT of grass in this painting! I am trying to say "grass" without painting every single blade of it. I am squinting trying to find shapes in the grass (if that makes any sense) and then painting these shapes and only pulling out some highlighted ones. Seems to be working. So what's left to do? Clive Meredith Wildlife Art: Lion drawing underway
http://artofclivemeredith.blogspot.com/2015/05/lion-drawing-underway.html
Clive Meredith Wildlife Art. Tuesday, 19 May 2015. I havnt drawn many male lions over the years as my references weren't too good as they were mostly of captive animals which tended to be a bit out of condition and carrying no battle scars. But after the trip to Botswana last year I now have an array of images of wild lions from which to construct a decent drawing or painting. All my latest drawings and limited edition prints can be found on my website www.clivemeredithart.weebly.com. Working in both grap...

Work In Progress - From the Studio of Kelly Singleton
Monday, July 4, 2016. It's Not Easy Being Green. Bosque del Apache NWR. Earlier this year, I saw a frog sunning itself on some fallen reeds. I liked the abstract pattern of the reeds in the shallow water and the fairly limited color scheme of the scene. I often look for patterns like this in nature. They make for interesting painting compositions. You see, it's not easy being green. It seems to blend in with so many other ordinary things. And then, sometimes, sometimes people pass over you. This piece re...
