Design Intelligence: Retailing Question

http://kelsey-di.blogspot.com/2007/11/retailing-question.html

Sunday, November 18, 2007. According to the article, shoppers are influenced by the positioning of merchandise. How influential do you feel this is on the shopper’s willingness to buy? Can positioning really change the success of a business? Do you believe that the mapping of a store has influence on your shopping habits? Or do you, the consumer, know what you are looking for and it is a mere matter of finding the item within the store? This article talks a lot about people's tendencies to touch, or pet ...

Design Intelligence: Packaging

http://kelsey-di.blogspot.com/2007/11/packaging.html

Tuesday, November 13, 2007. 1 To what extent is packaging important in marketing a product? Give an example of how a package influenced your decision to buy (or not buy) something. 2 What other products have iconic packaging? Apple’s packaging is simple and clean. It is not flashy and obnoxious, just sophisticated. The consumer will recognize an apple product right away from the Apple symbol. High end makeup has a specific iconic design that is associated with the product. I will not go through them ...

Design Intelligence: Pitiful Packaging

http://kelsey-di.blogspot.com/2007/11/pitiful-packaging.html

Friday, November 16, 2007. 1 Packaging serves several purposes:. Protecting the product – Packages are necessary for fragile items that cannot be shipped, stored and displayed without proper protection. Easy storage and distribution – It’s easier to store and distribute boxes than the actual product itself. Deterring theft – Many packages have security sensors to protect against shop lifting. If a product wasn’t packaged, wouldn’t it be easier to steal? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Design Intelligence: BLOG

http://kelsey-di.blogspot.com/2007/10/blog.html

Tuesday, October 30, 2007. I was recently browsing my classmates’ blogs about our design intelligence class. First I read Brandon’s blog. He wrote about the design of common everyday objects in his dorm room. This relates to the book we read earlier, The Design of Everyday Things. It is interesting that after studying design in class, we so readily analyze our possessions. I then read Naufal’s blog. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Design Intelligence Class Webpage. Design Intelligence: Other Classes

http://laurkoch.blogspot.com/2007/10/other-classes.html

Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Kelsey's Blog was similar to my own. Making a far off link between design and real world applications. Marketing seems to be a mixture of economics and design. Good merchandising requires proper design and marketing. I enjoyed reading Spencer's blog. About Mac OS Leopard. It is essentially a increasing the "supply" of the operating system without giving anything up. It is efficient. The features of Leopard are both easy to use and visible, making them user friendly.

Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Why design a helmet that people prefer not to wear? Another blog I liked was Kelsey's blog because she tied in marketing with design. I have always been interested in marketing, but I never realized that design was a part of the marketing process. I like the aspect of marketing and I might look more into it as a possible career for the future. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). How to Design the Perfect Product Article. The store entrance in one person: Mickey Mouse. The entrance to the store is divided by black mickey ears. So, there is no question what is inside. Disney merchandise. Giardiniera, Chicago’s favorite condiment. My name is Kelsey, and I have a confession: I am a junkie for giardiniera. As a Chicago native, I developed a foodie’s passion for Chicago’s must-eats early in life —. But the king of the condiments? Giardiniera, which fittingly translates to “gardener” in Italian. It’s my favorite topping —. And second to none in flavor. Buy Kelsey D's Hot Giardiniera Now. Buy Kelsey D's Mild Giardiniera Now.

Friday, December 9, 2011. Response to "Virtual Classes". In my classmate Allie’s post, Virtual Classes. Allie comments on the increase of people taking online classes at all levels of education and states that though she thinks online classes are beneficial for students in high education, she believes it is bad for elementary school children to take online classes. While I agree with Allie that it is bad for young children to get their education from online classes, I disagree with her reasons why. Now, ...

In My Weakness, He is Strong

In My Weakness, He is Strong. Sunday, May 17, 2015. Why is it ok for people to laugh at racism and adult bullying when it is in a movie or "socially acceptable" setting? Just because something is done under the pretense of humor does not make it ok. Shouldn't we be trying to break down stereotypes instead of reinforcing and supporting them? We are dehumanizing them. Did I choose to be a middle-class white girl born in America? Am I grateful that I was? There people are dying. Would you not be infuriated?
