Down In My Heart: August 2010
http://down-in-my-heart.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 29, 2010. Tayrona, as promised. Happy to be in one of the most beautiful places I've experienced. These gigantic rocks marked the coast line. We hiked to an old indigenous village, which has been restored for tourists, this is an example of the types of houses (very similar to what we saw in the Ciudad Perdida). A little day-glo friend. Hotel for one night. View from said hotel. In my opinion, best of the three swim-able beaches. Friday, August 27, 2010. Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Diana h...

http://down-in-my-heart.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 30, 2010. This week has been pretty busy. I leave for training, retreat, and vacation in just six days, so I am scrambling a bit to organize everything at school. I have tests to finish, I have sub plans to write out, I have lesson plans to finish, then a few other pending emails, blog posts, and evaluations, also packing, cleaning, banking, and errands. Yikes. So long for now! Saturday, May 22, 2010. There was a death in Diana's family last week. Although not a close relative, the death ...

Tuesday, October 26, 2010. I went to the coast again. This is my face on vacation. A Mampujan friend, Yesith, he is the one who is around most often (in my opinion). Torin and his roommate took me to visit Mampujan viejo, (the place where Torin's community was displaced from). You can see how nature has taken over in the 10 years since their absence. These are two of my favorite Mampujan little girls, Olgita y Mariana. Monday, October 11, 2010. I had my camera so here are few pictures of the day. Also, t...

Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Today is my last day in Cazuca. I'll be back in a week for graduation, but this is my last official day/night I will live in the neighborhood of el progreso. I was feeling the pressure to clean and pack but today I'm trying to chill out. I know it will all get done. I. I was feeling nostalgic about my not seeing my kids again, so here are some of my favorite pictures of them and one of the front door of the building that I live(d) in. Sunday, October 3, 2010. I was in Bogota for a day this weekend. I thought to bring my camera and took a few shots of interesting (and funny) graffiti. Also, this weekend, I hung out with my crafty friend Shalom and we figured out how to make big flower pins and ate really good food (cheddar cheese! Thanks for making it to the bottom. October 4, 2010 at 8:22 PM. I love the bridge. I would watch your toes around that one. :) I have parent teacher conferences this week! Two in Spanish tomorrow.

Down In My Heart: December 2009
http://down-in-my-heart.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 18, 2009. This week I've been working in the office all day, and have been very productive. I also went to this huge Christmas fair at the Expo center here, which was amazing. My mom, tia, and grandma would have been going nuts. I was overwhelmed with beautiful artisan wares. This weekend I'll be back in Cazuca and, in fact there is going to be a wedding on Sunday! I'm actually pretty excited, to see a real Colombian wedding, and get the chance to celebrate with my community and church.
