Southwest Salad | Made With My Bear Hands
https://withbearhands.wordpress.com/2011/07/20/southwest-salad
Made With My Bear Hands. Lessons on food and craft. bear with me. July 20, 2011. This is the third salad in my Summer Salad Series. That’s right, three makes it an official series. HAYO. I made this salad for two different parties this month. It’s zesty, refreshing and easy to make! Grilled corn adds an extra kick! It would be ideal to have tortilla strips, but I just literally crushed some tortilla chips in my bear hands. I made this salad without meat. But grilled chicken or shrimp is a great addition.

Bear Claw | Made With My Bear Hands
https://withbearhands.wordpress.com/2012/01/07/bear-claw
Made With My Bear Hands. Lessons on food and craft. bear with me. January 7, 2012. My mojo was gone. Hopelessly, I was flipping through my Cookie Bible (yes a real book) and saw this recipe. I had to make it. Who cares that I had to buy a Madeline pan, roast AND chop 4 cups of hazelnuts, create a piping tip and carefully place almonds as claws on the tips of these cookies? I made these cookies twice. The first time was for a cookie exchange. 1 cup toasted ground almonds. 2 cups all purpose flour. 3 Greas...

Made With My Bear Hands. Lessons on food and craft. bear with me. Hollah at my Jalapeno Cornbread. October 27, 2011. When I eat cornbread, I think of that scene in the movie Life with Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy…. Remember when the huge prisoner looks across the table (with crazy eyes) at Martin Lawrence and asks, “You go’n eat yo cornbread? It cracks me up and I even joke with my brother Jared about that whenever we have a big family dinner. Read the entire recipe. Why? 1 tsp baking powder. Butter ...

Squarsh Souffle | Made With My Bear Hands
https://withbearhands.wordpress.com/2011/04/27/squarsh-souffle
Made With My Bear Hands. Lessons on food and craft. bear with me. April 27, 2011. I say ‘squarsh’ because my mom tends to add an ‘r’ after anything with a ‘qu.’ Meanwhile, both squish and squash become “squarsh.”. I know what you’re thinking – squash souffle? It’s fluffy, light, sweet and hearty all at the same time. Kinda like me. This is a great accent to any main meat dish – I’ve served it with ham, pork and chicken. It kinda tastes like my Sweet Potato Delight. I had to tempur. Add margarine and melt.

BearSpeak | Made With My Bear Hands

Made With My Bear Hands. Lessons on food and craft. bear with me. Something that is so delicious you can’t even spell correctly. An expression that is yelled out when something is really cool; a more sophisticated and abbreviated way of saying ‘haaaaay.’. Something that is not quite up to par. An expression coined by a former co-worker when we would discuss lunch options. A food that is crisp and buttery, which often creates bearily excitement. 2 thoughts on “ BearSpeak. Made With My Bear Hands. Lessons on food and craft. bear with me. Oriental (Asian) Cabbage Salad. June 22, 2011. This recipe is so old, it’s politically incorrect. My mom has been making it for years and it’s a fresh alternative to a lettuce salad. (Helloooooo ruffage). That’s another rule I have about. Potlucks. Try everything once. Mix these two items together in a large bowl, then set aside:. 2 lbs shredded cabbage (red or green). 1 cup slivered almonds (or a package). 1/4 cup seasame seeds. 1 package...
