Hockey, Fishing, Family and Other Random Pastimes. December 29, 2006. At 3:23 pm by Mike Milinkovich. Meet my new toy, the Nikon D80. Hockey, Fishing, Family and Other Random Pastimes. February 26, 2008. My New Role Model. At 8:35 pm by Mike Milinkovich. I’ve grown and changed a lot as a coach over the past 12 years. A lot of it has to do with experience and maturity. But having role models to help define your approach to the game and how to interact with the kids is also huge. Transcript of the Voices in my Head. Random stories from work, travel, and life in general. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Ah so THAT's what it is like to have your Visa card rejected when you are at a store on vacation. Will have to investigate further since it worked ok at the rental car place. Planes, Trains and Automobiles. The plane is courtesy of Air Canada, the train is the TGV (later on in the trip), and the car is from Hertz. Ended up getting a Toyota Prius for a rental car. I'm going green, baby!

December 7th, 2007. I’m off to Generative Art 2007. In Milan once again this year. I’ll be presenting a paper Theory of Complexity. This will be the 10th anniversary of the conference so it ought to be a good one. I happened to be at the first: at the time OTI would send you to one conference a year and I happened upon that one in a web search. I was the only one there without a paper and not invited. They couldn’t figure out who I was or how I found the conference! Posted in Generative Art. The move wen...

My point at the time was that Ruby, being similar to Smalltalk, should be able to improve its performance using fairly well understood implementation techniques used in Smalltalk and many other OO language runtimes. As Ruby becomes more popular. Two of the points Rick made, were 1) the benchmark code is. Would be better...
