Adventures in South Africa. A telling of the tales of my travels in South Africa, and possibly China later on! Tuesday, September 13, 2011. A not so live look. Hello all, sorry for not updating in a while. One of the people, Chelsey, who went to South Africa with me spent our time there behind a camera and was able to make a great documentary. If you want to watch it go to THIS LINK. And it will automatically start loading. Hopefully I will finish my China tales at some point. fingers crossed!

I am what I am because of who we all are. Couarge is another way of learning to live with your fears. Wednesday, June 15, 2011. To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly. –Henri L. Bergson-. To all my readers out there:. Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why we call it 'The Present'. -Eleanor Roosevelt-. Saying goodbye and letting go had never been my strong suit. Friday, June 10, 2011. How di...

Aaron in South Africa: July 2011
http://aaroninsouthafrica.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Aaron in South Africa. Friday, July 22, 2011. Influence, Mattering, and Remembering. I found out today that someone I knew in college died. At the same time, I have been attending for the past few days a leadership symposium. These two things have really got me thinking so I am using this space, public as it may be, to sort out my thoughts. (in fact, I left the symposium early to try and write this down.). Director of Residence Life? What a true tribute and memorial to Tracy! In fact, over the past few d...

Aaron in South Africa: June 2008
http://aaroninsouthafrica.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Aaron in South Africa. Sunday, June 15, 2008. How does one summarize and say farewell to a life-changing experience? This may very well be my last blog entry while in South Africa (I make no promises, though). And, having written that, I am left with a kind of sadness I can't explain. Because it's not totally sadness in every sense of the word. It's sadness, mixed with loneliness, but then also a dash of pride, and.well other things I'm not sure I can name. Today, Ouma came and picked up Kate and I and w...

Aaron in South Africa: Graduation Day
http://aaroninsouthafrica.blogspot.com/2011/06/graduation-day.html
Aaron in South Africa. Friday, June 10, 2011. Fittingly, today was graduation day at the University of Cape Town. Today was also our last day of lecture during our time here, so in a way it was our graduation too. It was quite nice to see graduates walking around campus with their cap and gowns, proud families smiling on and taking pictures. It felt very familiar. And then on the eval today was the question "what are your insights about the role of a community as a result of your experience? One of the s...

Spill Your Guts. | catinsouthafrica
https://catinsouthafrica.wordpress.com/2012/07/13/spill-your-guts
Lions, elephants, and giraffes. oh my! So you blog…. You know that feeling you get right before you throw up? Sometimes it’s just better to spill your guts. Yesterday one of our activities was a bus tour through Bloemfontein. The tours were divided into three themes: history, geography, and architecture. In the roulette of loading the bus, I found myself seated for a tour of Bloem’s expansive geography. It made me sick. It made me sick. It made me sick. It made me sick. And then I spilled my guts. http://leadershipincapetown.blogspot.com/2011/07/limbo.html
I am what I am because of who we all are. Couarge is another way of learning to live with your fears. Monday, July 18, 2011. I wrote this blog approximately 10 days from today and never posted it so here it is. Life has returned to some semblance of normal since I returned from Cape Town just over 3 weeks ago. It is hard to believe that I have been back in the United States longer than the entire time I was in South Africa. The week after I got back I spent some much-needed time with my family. For some ...
