Road Conditions for Hwy 108

There are 3 levels of chain control: R1, R2, and R3. R1: Chains or tires with snow tread are required. R2: Chains or 4-wheel drive vehicles with snow tread tires on all 4 wheels required. R3: Chains required on all vehicles. (This is rare- highway usually closed instead). A tire with snow tread can be identified by a marking "M&S" for "Mud and Snow" rated. Kennedy Meadows is located approximately 60 miles East of Sonora, nestled high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Come and stay with us at the Resort, or let us pack you into the Emigrant Wilderness or Southern Yosemite National Park.
