A Hybrid Investment Method. Market Commentary – April 2010. I use various indicators to determine overall market conditions. Currently, almost all of those indicators are pointing towards extremely overbought market conditions. One of the main reasons I haven’t updated the blog, aside from applying to grad schools, is simply because the market has become overly bullish, and my typical setups are quite hard to find. Here are the indicators in question:. NYSE Summation Index large divergence developing.

Market commentary and trading strategies. Friday, October 16, 2009. 10 Different Views of Technical Analysis. This is going to be a lengthy post that attempts to cover a good portion of what I've learned so far in Technical Analysis after doing it for nearly 2 years and how I see it being used in the industry. Technical Analysis is constantly evolving and it is quite evident that there are tons of different methods available to use. Is 20 some magical number? 1) The Rookie Technician. This is much easier...

Stock Jockz: May 2010
http://stockjockz.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Market commentary and trading strategies. Sunday, May 9, 2010. Wow, once in a lifetime kind of a week. Unfortunately I did not fare well through the roller coaster. As things started going bad, my buddy was texting me the dramatically falling prices. One text simply said "its a crash. down 900" and this triggered a panic attack for me. I was sitting in a car FREAKING out thinking "Oh my god! I may have just lost everything! And Lo and Behold, Apple rises $3! The spreadsheet can download 10 years' histori...

Stock Jockz: Market Update
http://stockjockz.blogspot.com/2010/09/market-update.html
Market commentary and trading strategies. Thursday, September 23, 2010. SP500 reached a high of 1147, a fibonacci level I had identified previously, and closed 25 points lower today. I missed that boat until this morning. But I do believe we are headed lower. My last two trades have been closed for small losses because the reversal I predicted did not come. The signs are all there, I think it is just a matter of time. No buy prospects this week, again. 10 Different Views of Technical Analysis.

http://stockjockz.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-excel-journal.html
Market commentary and trading strategies. Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Since March 11th, I have not had a chance to post everyday, but I traded three new trades in that time. But as I sat down today to log all the trades, I noticed that my account position overall changed a mere .1% after commissions! Anyway, instead of posting all the trades I logged, I want to share my journal. The format is very similar to Big Mike's journal but I have changed a bunch of things to suit my needs. The data is very l...

Stock Jockz: June 2010
http://stockjockz.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Market commentary and trading strategies. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. In my previous posts I mentioned that SPX would reach 1104 and then turn around. I also said that if the move was confirmed on the daily charts, I would take a short position on the SPX. However, the trend is still very much bearish. Look at the fibonacci channels in the chart - it shows the market is still very much within the bounds of the channel and the lines have not broken. The colors really help you see when the trend is reaching ex...
