May 26, 2016. I’m off work this week, this shared parental leave is great! I’ve had a wonderful time with both children, however, getting out for a mid week run has been awkward. So when a free hour came up on Wednesday afternoon, I jumped at it! The Ridgeway from Wallingford is really quite steep. June 6, 2016. I’ll put my cards on the table now, and say “I love this race”. It’s all on the training ground of my club the wonderful Benson Striders, and it’s a lot of off-road, which I enjoy. June 11, 2016. June 12, 2016. Think I’ve made a good start. Monday’s recovery run went well, three lovely miles along the Thames at Bray. A bit hot though, twenty five ish. At least the path went through a fair amount of dappled shade. Glad I wasn’t trying to push too hard though. My first long run was scheduled for this Saturday. June 6, 2016. I’ve finally arrived at day one of my marathon training plan! I couldn’t find an existing plan that suited me, so I’ve created one. I’m proud of it, it includes cut back weeks, speed work, recovery runs and the all important long runs and it will hopefully see me sailing over the line in October in a good time.
