The Brewer Family Blog: Killing Time: The Last 2 Weeks
http://www.brewerfamilyblog.com/2015/04/killing-time-last-2-weeks.html
Killing Time: The Last 2 Weeks. Neh I'm good. At least for now. Maybe when my kids are older. Still, Brody and Autumn loved walking him and having him around. Brody was hilarious the way he would constantly call for Jackson. I had to get it on tape:. Easter activities also helped us break up the monotony of our usual couch activities with Brody. We dyed eggs (and made deviled eggs, yum. Everybody wins! Nothing breaks up a countdown like a road trip! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). South Africa Meets ...

The Brewer Family Blog: The Cast Comes Off
http://www.brewerfamilyblog.com/2015/04/the-cast-comes-off.html
The Cast Comes Off. At long last, after 6 weeks and 4 days, the cast came off! We still went into the appointment not knowing what to expect, especially after the disappointment after our first visit. Our appointment was much better this time around, with the Doctor personally coming into our room and telling us how great Brody looked, that it was time for the cast to come off, and what to expect over the next few weeks. Brody was so excited, "Shoes! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Courtney's AIG cla...

The Brewer Family Blog: Thanksgiving 2014
http://www.brewerfamilyblog.com/2014/11/thanksgiving-2014.html
Like the year before, we had two turkeys to feed our bunch. A deep fried and a yummy roasted variety. Joel and Jason did us the honors and carved them up for the gang! The amount of food we had was unbelievable! Chelsey thought of everything and really out did herself! While we went up for a second trip, we were sometimes still trying something for the first time because there simply wasn't room on the plate the first time around! But worth it. it's delicious! A day of paintball! For the girls and the re...

The Brewer Family Blog: Brody's First Steps
http://www.brewerfamilyblog.com/2015/05/brodys-first-steps.html
Five days after his cast was removed, Brody took his first steps:. He worked his way up to pushing the shopping cart outside, walking slowly and wobbly, but walking! Unfortunately, when the cast was removed, there was some sort of a rash growing under neath it. It eventually began to spread, and it was itchy as all get out. When we took Brody to urgent care to get a steroid to finally offer him some relief, he took his first steps five days after his cast was removed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Brewer Family Blog: Surviving Week One
http://www.brewerfamilyblog.com/2015/03/surviving-week-one.html
We officially survived week one in Brody's spica cast. It was a really, really tough week. As much as I'd like to forget it, I know that finding my way onto other blogs from families who have "been there, done that" was incredibly encouraging and resourceful. Perhaps I'll help someone else, but more importantly I'm here to catalog memories for Brody and our scrapbook one day. Getting Brody off the couch, trying to keep things at his level and within reach. It was during one of these nights when I was sob...

The Brewer Family Blog: A Little Setback
http://www.brewerfamilyblog.com/2015/04/a-little-setback.html
That's a cast. For two more friggin' weeks. #worstdayever #iwishaprilfools #notdonecooking. A photo posted by kellibrewer (@kellibrewer) on. Apr 1, 2015 at 9:31am PDT. If you've been following me on other forms of social media, you'll know that unfortunately it wasn't "just 4 weeks" after all. At our appointment on April 1st, we found out that Brody would need another 2 weeks in his cast. I should have known better, it being April Fools and all. Amen Autumn. Amen. He laughed, and I said we'd love some!

The Brewer Family Blog: Surviving Weeks 2 & 3
http://www.brewerfamilyblog.com/2015/03/surviving-weeks-2.html
Surviving Weeks 2 and 3. The doctor gave us great news - instead of 6 weeks, she thought 4 weeks would be sufficient to heal his break! We wouldn't need anymore visits to the doctor until the 4 weeks were up, so I eagerly made our appointment. There's no guarantee when we go in next that the cast will come off, but hopefully the X-rays will show that our time in a spica cast is over! Cousin Jackson adding his John Hancock to Brody's cast. All the cousins took a turn. He's such a smart little boy. As we h...

The Brewer Family Blog: That one time Brody broke his leg...
http://www.brewerfamilyblog.com/2015/03/that-one-time-brody-broke-his-leg.html
That one time Brody broke his leg. It's about time I sat down to write all of this down for memory - not only for me, but for Brody, who will probably remember very little from this whole experience. And by experience, I mean that time he broke his leg. Now, I've already given my Mom a hard time about how horrible her message was. Not only was she heinously vague, but her tone had me concerned whether or not Brody was even alive. The agony of finally getting a hold of her and understanding what h...When ...
