Not So Scary SKS. Going back to my last post, I didn't mean to make the SKS sound so scary and dangerous. Most of them are very reliable. It's the few that aren't that make the bad reputation. Since I don't own one yet, everything I know about them is secondhand. But I've heard that there are ways to make sure your SKS is safe. Take the bolt completely apart and clean it. At least I hope to be. I'm starting to get into reloading. By starting, I mean acquiring the various things needed to reload. I haven't acquired everything yet, much less actually started to reload. I want to reload 30-06 and .38 special. I have the following tools and supplies for reloading:. Lee Classic Loader for 30-06. 40 spent brass shell casings (30-06). Smokeless powder IMR 4895 (30-06). 48 spent brass shell casings (.38 spl). And 500 lead bullets (125 grain). Who knows, maybe by next weekend!
