We fished the upper reaches, above the hatchery in the morning and mid-day, then mid-afternoon lunch break before returning to water for the evening hatch. Lots of midge activity late morning, but once the sun shone on the water in the upper stretches, the wild rainbows came out to take Quill Gordons (Epeorus pleuralis). Off the surface. Other fishermen were reporting good stocker activity in the campground area, but fishing was better for us further upstream. Excellent day! Time on Water: 7.5 hours.

I did make it to the Whitetop Laurel for a few hours, and pulled out a few rainbows and browns.
