An iceberg celebrates, by accident, its birthday. The highway patrol approaches a wet sofa left by the side of the road, discussing later what they could’ve done better with their heat. Jordan Stempleman's newest collection crunches through the dirty snow of trying to love when love is gone, heaving from room to room, humming from joke to dark, car to gym, chainsaws and milkweed, bathroom faucets that fall apart in your hands, history private and public, men shaving in the public water fountain. A Piece ...

News from the Middle of the World: Trying new things
http://writinginthemiddle.blogspot.com/2013/05/trying-new-things.html
News from the Middle of the World. Thursday, May 02, 2013. We did a lot of walking in Disney World, and I haven't gotten any exercise since. I really need to get out there and start some sort of routine! My legs have been cramping up with so much sitting time at the computer. At one station they had to look for dung and recognize the animal it belonged to (the dung was fake of course, but looked real enough! They thought that was pretty cool. Can I just say WOW? Then we tried the O! Canada movie, and tha...

The Coriolis Question: Gift with Purchase
http://simeonberry.blogspot.com/2009/04/gift-with-purchase.html
Wednesday, April 08, 2009. It’s nice to see that April 1st did not go totally unobserved in the poetry world. And the focus of the rites was rather economic in nature. The Kenyon Review. Took advantage of the serious financial weirdness to acquire. That the Cave Canem Prize should really go to Tao. I hope that there were other shenanigans afoot out there. What good is the internet if not for ad-hoc, self-relexiveness? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Simeon Berry Dot Com.

A Small, Good Thing: Stratford Landing
http://smallgoodthing.blogspot.com/2009/04/otherwise-drive-was-not-unpleasant.html
A Small, Good Thing. Sunday, April 26, 2009. This year for Easter we were given a surprisingly adult dose of sleet and snow that began on Good Friday and ran through to Easter Monday (which is of course no longer a holiday). We lost power once or twice over the weekend, became fully dependent on wood heat and candle light, and the morning services were canceled. His must be a difficult yoke to wear day in and day out. A Small, Good Thing: Another Sunday
http://smallgoodthing.blogspot.com/2009/04/another-sunday.html
A Small, Good Thing. Saturday, April 25, 2009. A holy day for most people, our family typically included, though on a morning like this you just might doubt it, judging by the way we slept late (until almost ten! A Small, Good Thing: Bathtub Porsche
http://smallgoodthing.blogspot.com/2009/05/outside-entrance-to-club-someone-has.html
A Small, Good Thing. Saturday, May 09, 2009. I point out the car to Kate and Anne and receive dull shrugs. They are deep in talks about Pepper. I point out the car to Thomas. He nods at me and then leans inside, placing his sweaty palms on the driver’s side door. 8220;What are you doing? 8221; I whisper-yell. 8221; he says. 8220;Are you crazy? 8220;Why are you whispering? He shrugs and walks off. He then sidles up to Kate, steps on her heels, and gives her a flat tire. Our clubhouse is fairly full, given...
