When we are in school most of what we are taught come from text books or educational videos, none of which give us a chance to learn outside of class. However there are some things one can learn from a experience/ feild trip that can't be learned from a text book. So, on friday, our Kamoolelo class got the chance to go to He'eia Fishpond and Uncle Danny's Lo`i in Waiahole. After talking to Uncle Danny we helped to till the lo`i patches by walkin...

Friday, August 27, 2010. Customs of Different Places Around the world. In China when people are greeted, the oldest is always greeted first. In Japan it is appropriate to "slurp" soup to show that it is being enjoyed. In France one shouldn't begin to eat unless the host/hostess has said 'bon appetit'. Thursday, September 16, 2010. Voyaging upon the Hokulea. Voyaging and Navigating doesnt seem to hard when you have two feet on land and all the resources you could possibly need. However, it is a much differnt experience one you step onto that canoe and head out to the ocean with nothing around you for miles. Whats a better way to learn about life on a canoe than to get someone who has actually been through the experience? What is used to Navigate. Clouds (during the day). Bird (follow them to land).
