Wednesday, May 14, 2008. I had done the first one some time ago but then set it aside. I am also trying to do as much Christmas crafting as possible (and without spending money - just using stash) so that I can get rid of some stuff and save some money for the wedding. I'm hoping to keep it to around 1k (including all the wedding stuff except for rings, clothes, and possibly a tip for the driver). Not sure about table centerpieces either. I had been going round and round thinking hats, baby surprise jackets, other baby sweaters, baby blanket.decision paralysis at its finest ;). Pattern: Owl Baby Vest. Download via Ravelry) OR get the instructions straight from the designer's blog. Yarn: Debbie Bliss Rialto, superwash merino (because baby things *should* be washable. Needles: US 4 and 5.

Wednesday, June 30, 2004. Next we have another Christmas gift for my mom, some garter stitch slippers (ugh, why do I always typo garter as farter. Anyone? She really likes my knit slippers but wears them out fast with the help of the cat (when I put pom poms on he thinks they're his toy and rips them off rather quickly). For these I skipped the poms. Next up, another pair of slippers, but this pair is for my dad. I did these quickly in some acrylic. They'll be for his birthday. Monday, June 28, 2004.

Tuesday, June 03, 2008. OK so I said I was going to post this last Saturday and I totally missed it, but with good reason (kind of). I was all set to go and take a picture of an amigurumi. I had made and some that I was working on. But when I pulled out my camera, the (rechargeable) batteries were dead. All the other ones were dead too, and I know. Tuesday, March 09, 2010. And now a better photo. These are classic leather-wrapped buttons to go along with the classic design of this cardigan. Not sure how everyone else approaches it, but my button jar is rather barren - I tend to finish a project.then I drag it into the knitting store where I can "try on" buttons or finishing accents at will :). Yeah, I am not a button collector, too. I rather knit something and then find buttons to match. And the leather buttons really finish it off in grand style.

To ensure a proper fit this time, I knitted the wide version, and knit on the foot a bit longer than recommended to accommodate felting shrinkage.
