The Longest Stretch | Traverse New Zealand
https://traversenz.com/2011/10/11/90-miles-of-beach
By Keno on Tuesday 11 October, 2011. After a few hours of walking on hard sand I felt my legs really tightening up. This helped a great deal but I could only feel the difference a few hours later. Not long after we saw the seal a stingray appeared on the sand near the water. The outgoing tide must have left it stranded? Hi Frith. Yes...

Lake Rotoiti | Traverse New Zealand
https://traversenz.com/2011/10/02/lake-rotoiti
By Keno on Sunday 2 October, 2011. It rained all night which made it even more cozy inside our motorhome. It’s still quite cold so to warm up we went for a walk on part of the Te Araroa Trail that I’ll be hiking next year. This section of the trail alongside the lake is level and easy-going. After a few days it gets steeper as it approaches the Waiau Pass. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window). Larr; Back On The Road Again. Ship Cove to Havelock. By Gordon on Sunday 5 February, 2012. Sunday 5th February 2012:. Ship Cove to Punga Cove. Just getting to Ship Cove was an adventure in itself! In order to meet our early morning transport booking we woke to the sound of our alarms at 5:45am. Our mission had begun! From Snake Point it was only another fifteen kilometres to our destination. We rounded the corner into Ship Cove. We had arrived to the spot we had both talked about a couple of years ago. As Cougar Line made...As we qui...

Ocean Beach | Traverse New Zealand

By Keno on Saturday 5 November, 2011. My tent was pretty close to the main road so after packing up it wasn’t long before I was making good ground. I had breakfast whilst walking to make up for the slow progress yesterday. My pack would be lighter if I’d had eaten dinner last night. I’ll stop and have a double dinner along the way somewhere.
