Still Making Kernels Panic: More Adventures In Vancouver
http://kernelpanic.blogspot.com/2010/10/more-adventures-in-vancouver.html
Still Making Kernels Panic. Stories Of Nerdy Adventures (Now With 100% More Cetaceans). Thursday, October 7, 2010. More Adventures In Vancouver. Ah, beautiful Vancouver! Here are some more photos I took, out and about on the streets. This is the Vancouver Art Gallery, which I now regret not visiting. I didn't have the time, with the conference and all. Also, I had caught a mild flu and was struggling with attending the conference sessions, and they were tiring me out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Still Making Kernels Panic: I'm In Vancouver!
http://kernelpanic.blogspot.com/2010/10/im-in-vancouver.html
Still Making Kernels Panic. Stories Of Nerdy Adventures (Now With 100% More Cetaceans). Saturday, October 2, 2010. I touched down in Vancouver about an hour ago, and now I'm at the hotel. Vancouver looks so green, even in fall. I guess the Pacific northwest doesn't have interesting weather. The first thing I notice is that everyone drives the "wrong" way around here, and the cab I took had the driver's seat on the left (that is weird). The city is beautiful, and I can't wait to go exploring. Evilmoose An...

Still Making Kernels Panic: Vancouver On Video
http://kernelpanic.blogspot.com/2010/10/vancouver-on-video.html
Still Making Kernels Panic. Stories Of Nerdy Adventures (Now With 100% More Cetaceans). Thursday, October 7, 2010. This is my last day in Vancouver, so here I have a short video of my trip here. Tomorrow I leave for Alberta, where I'll meet up with my friends and have the second part of my Canadian adventure. Vancouver seems to be a very pleasant city! And the street musicians seem to have a good taste (well, the one with the guitar at least). March 7, 2011 at 3:32 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Still Making Kernels Panic: Birds Of British Columbia Part 1: Seagulls
http://kernelpanic.blogspot.com/2010/10/birds-of-british-columbia-part-1.html
Still Making Kernels Panic. Stories Of Nerdy Adventures (Now With 100% More Cetaceans). Thursday, October 7, 2010. Birds Of British Columbia Part 1: Seagulls. While in Canada, I got to do some bird photography with North American birds! The first bird I noticed was the seagull, which I had never before seen in real life. They were larger than I expected! After a while the novelty of seagulls wear off though. The novelty of seagulls wears off? How is that possible? March 25, 2011 at 5:34 AM. Evilmoose And...

yk's stuff: Tasik Idaman Paintball Tournament 2009 with Team Infidelz
http://yoonkit.blogspot.com/2009/07/tasik-idaman-paintball-tournament-2009.html
Thursday, July 09, 2009. Tasik Idaman Paintball Tournament 2009 with Team Infidelz. I had the opportunity to guest for Team Infidelz. Last weekend (4-5 July 2009), for this amateur tournament in Bangi. Directions via the North-South Highway:. View Taman Tasik Idaman, Bangi. In a larger map. Left home at 6:20am, arrived at 7am at Tasik Idaman. Nobody was there, it was like a typical kampung. Booked a table for Infidelz, and the organisers, Skirmish. Poor fella. So we won with a perfect score. The sixth ga...

Friday, April 23, 2010. Posts to other sites. I submitted an opinion piece. To The Malaysian Insider, in response to a really weird article by Kwek Kon Yao who was pleading to the world to stop persecuting Microsoft. It was easy work, considering the arguments raised by Kon-Yao was rather basic and not thorough. I still have a feeling he force fitted the Microsoft example into a pet theory he was considering. Please read " Who is persecuting Microsoft. It was then a matter of twittering the editor, jsadiq.
Jason's Ramblings: Moo
http://jason28841.blogspot.com/2012/11/moo.html
Food, movies, and stuff. Sunday, November 4, 2012. So I've cooked pasta. Today, for the first time, I attempted to cook beef - a steak to be exact. I've always been afraid to cook beef because pan-frying steak can be difficult and steak purists would thumb their noses at such sacrilege. Nevertheless, I wanted to try it if only to say I have. In any case, at MYR 15 for two (admittedly small) steaks, it seemed a bargain compared to the salmon I usually buy. Is there such a thing as too many mushrooms?
Jason's Ramblings: January 2014
http://jason28841.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Food, movies, and stuff. Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Seasons Greetings 2013; Happy New Year 2014. Hrmmm I've really been neglecting this blog. Laziness is a powerful force! Anyway, since 2014 has reared its hopeful head, here's the first blog post of the year :). As per usual at Christmas, I took leave to go to my parents' place in Penang. The calendar helpfully placed Christmas on a Wednesday so I took the whole week off (yay). Christmas time is also my eldest sister's birthday so we had some good foods.
Jason's Ramblings: September 2013
http://jason28841.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Food, movies, and stuff. Monday, September 2, 2013. It all started when my boss suggested over lunch that we have a barbecue party. Living in a condominium, I had access to a barbecue pit and much to my chagrin, I was to be the host of this little get-together. I scoffed, and assumed it to be a joke. Eventually, the founder of the feast himself elected not to attend. But the idea refused to die. Once everyone arrived, the party began. The cook prepared a nice selection of meat (mostly pork):. Despite ini...

Food, movies, and stuff. Monday, March 18, 2013. After the success of last week's pasta sauce. I decided to make another dish that I've been wanting to do but never got round to: baked herbed potatoes :). Based on this recipe. Posted by Jason C. Sunday, March 10, 2013. I will have the penne al'arrabbiata. Ever since I saw this video. I basically got the gist of it and just winged it. Here are the ingredients:. Now, arrabbiata sauce doesn't actually have mushrooms in it, but I like mushrooms, so I put som...
Jason's Ramblings: RIP Roger Ebert
http://jason28841.blogspot.com/2013/04/rip-roger-ebert.html
Food, movies, and stuff. Friday, April 5, 2013. I was saddened this morning to learn of the passing of Roger Ebert. As one who loves movies and one who used to write the occasional (amateurish) review, I greatly admired his writing style and insights even when I did not necessarily agree with him. When not writing about movies, his essays and wit were still master-classes in writing. Heck, he even got a Pullitzer prize. His last blog post. And the words of his wife. Rest in peace, Mr. Ebert. Five weeks a...

Jason's Ramblings: Moving forward
http://jason28841.blogspot.com/2012/10/moving-forward.html
Food, movies, and stuff. Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Five weeks ago today, I bade a fond farewell. It's so cool that I have this car now and I love it to bits. No more violent vibrations when idling in gear with the air-conditioner on. No more strange creaks. No more shuddering at high(ish) speeds. It's nice to be moving forward as the tagline says :). Also my new car is so pretty! Posted by Jason C. October 8, 2012 at 11:13 PM. Congratulations on the new car! The Toyota Vios surely is a wonderful ride!
Jason's Ramblings: May 2013
http://jason28841.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Food, movies, and stuff. Sunday, May 26, 2013. Today, I attempted to make mushroom soup from scratch. and succeeded! I've been meaning to try home-made mushroom soup for some time and after getting a recipe. From a friend of mine, I gave it a try. I used Swiss button mushrooms (brown and white), one portobello mushroom, and some oyster mushrooms. Being blender-deprived, I chopped up the Swiss and portobello mushrooms as fine as I could instead of slicing them and shredded the oyster mushrooms. Birds Of B...

Still Making Kernels Panic. Stories Of Nerdy Adventures (Now With 100% More Cetaceans). Thursday, October 7, 2010. Birds Of British Columbia Part 6: Great Blue Heron. I don't see swans and ducks often enough in Penang. Meeting them is always a joy. Birds Of British Columbia Part 4: Sparrows. This is the white-crowned sparrow. After th...
