Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO)是被應用到任何的鋁，鎂或鈦的合金，以及其他金屬的電化學表面轉化處理。 類似此技術包括 火花陽極氧化 和 微弧氧化 MAO。 克絡耐 KERONITE PEO一般包括有 外表層、基礎層及轉化層。 厚度範圍由10到150 microns足以耐腐蝕 而厚度高達200到400 microns時，更具極佳熱度與電力的阻絕效果。 膜層是藉由物件本身的原子鍵結所形成的，所以附著力特別強，比一般外部塗裝方法 (如 電漿噴塗) 強太多了。 依ASTM B117標準方法進行鹽霧試驗，部份經過克絡耐 KERONITE PEO處理的合金可耐鹽霧長達2,000 小時，也還沒有腐蝕現象。 克絡耐 KERONITE PEO處理可耐電壓超過1000伏特 (直流) ，更值得注目的是，這是在高達500 的高溫下所測得的。 拋光後，克絡耐 KERONITE加以潤滑時，摩擦係數小於0.1，乾燥時，摩擦係數小於0.5。
