http://www.kerryinkigali.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Teaching Adventures in Rwanda. Thursday, January 12, 2012. These kids can dance! This is actually a video of some of my kids from last year during one of our dance parties. Don't worry, I turn the camera soon. I hope this works, as I've never successfully posted a video on my blog before. Enjoy! Tuesday, January 10, 2012. You mean my blog didn't update itself in the past 2 months? I guess that means I should get going. So back to November. Douglas brought me beautiful calla lilies from town! The secretar...

Teaching Adventures in Rwanda: October 2011

http://www.kerryinkigali.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Teaching Adventures in Rwanda. Sunday, October 30, 2011. After a couple of hours we left Abby (2nd grade teacher) and Natalie (5th grade teacher) and ventured back to our little dome. We had fish for dinner, which we were a little disappointed to learn was from another lake in Uganda, but it was still so delicious! Douglas enjoyed a drink that we don't have in Rwanda (or the US, tthat I know of). It's called "Tangawezi" and it's ginger beer (like root beer, but ginger! Not to just seek after our own desi...

The Jonker Family: February 2012

http://kjjonker.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 21, 2012. This post is dedicated to all of my Michigan and New England friends who know what snow really is! Throughout my school years I always thought about how once I was out in the real world, that I would never have another snow day again in my life! A pretty devastating thought as a child! I got a text once the snow had started to fall that my work would be delayed two hours on Monday morning! A light dusting, and dry roads! Monday, February 20, 2012. We met a couple, John and Dan...

The Jonker Family: June 2012

http://kjjonker.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 12, 2012. For Memorial Weekend, John and I decided we wanted an adventure- after little thought, we decided a road trip to Michigan! The catch was, each of us promised we wouldn't tell anyone we were coming! We left right after work that Friday afternoon and began our trek! I used to have quite a bit disdain for road trips, but the longer John and I are married, they continue to grow on me! I had quite a bit of work to get done in the car, and John loves to drive- so it all worked out!

The Jonker Family: July 2012

http://kjjonker.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 30, 2012. The week before we left Greensboro, Sam and Janice Baker were gracious enough to take John and I flying- and letting John pilot the plane! It was a beautiful day for it and we both had so much fun! We took off from the Greensboro airport and it was the first small plane that I had ever flown in (how cool that my first flight was piloted by my husband! Sam sat up front with John and guided him on what to do while Janice and I enjoyed the ride in the back of the plane. We love the cr...

Saturday, September 17, 2011. Fun Night with the Boys. I didn't get any pictures (I wish I had! But I had a fun Saturday night last weekend with John and Phil! Both of the guys worked at Rental Works earlier in the day and had to set up a tent at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. They chatted with the manager for a bit who invited them to come back Saturday night for all the appetizers they could eat- and he would pick up the tab! The three of us went back that night (somehow I slipped into the mix too! John and ...

Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Boogity, Boogity, Boogity, Let's Go Racing Boys! Last weekend was John and his friend Phil's birthday weekend. As some of you may know, since moving to North Carolina, John has become quite the NASCAR fan, so what better way to celebrate a birthday than a NASCAR race with friends! Last year, we went to the Coca-Cola 600. Race over Memorial Day, which was soooooo long (600 miles to be exact! It kept everyone on their toes! The two birthday boys, Phil and John! My sweet friend Dani...

To Be One...: May 2011

http://markjenny.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 10, 2011. We have been walking A LOT. Several miles a day for multiple reasons: 1.) Its good exercise and I needed after 8 weeks of bed rest. 2.) It helps get the baby in a good birthing position and can help move your body towards labor, if your body is ready. 3.) Its fun! We have gotten a ton of work done in our yard that we didn't think we would have time to do. It looks the most cleaned up and pretty that it has looked since we moved in. I am really excited about this. Subscribe to: Post...

Sunday, June 12, 2011. Our beautiful little girl was born three weeks ago on May 20th at 7:07am. I want to write the birth story because it was an amazing experience and while I was pregnant I loved reading people's birth stories so I thought I should share mine and Sophia's. She was 6lbs 10oz. and 21 inches long. So tiny! Which I'm sure had to do with my crazy 5 hour delivery. I never expected it to be so short! I am so thankful I was able to go without any drugs, although I have no idea if I would have...

Kerry in India

Tuesday, December 16, 2008. The Chinese fishing nets and nightly parade by the seafront. What's your good name maam? There seemed less urgency about the need for some tourist business - well Kerala is the richest state in India, so I welcomed this laid-back attitude with open arms. Fresh red-snapper ready to be cooked Keralan style - yum! Taxi driving, southern style. A swiss rickshaw in Fort Cochin? Saturday, November 29, 2008. It really felt like a home from home and the roof garden was always busy on ...

Kerry in Paris | Bonjour!

June 9, 2013. Comments 3 Comments on Day 33 Walking 9 km Cap Ferrat. Day 33 Walking 9 km Cap Ferrat. Today’s walk was along a peninsula called Cap Ferrat which was a section of Cote d’Azur coastline further away from Monaco. I quite like this walking tour because it seems to provide a balance of mountain walking and walking along the coastline. We took the bus again to get there and started walking. Today’s walk was all flat roads, no climbing. Which was great! This was our tour’s last night togeth...
