Reasons for using ICTs in the classroom. Confessions of an ICT Immigrant. My name is Kerry Schwenke and I am a mature age student entering my third year for Bachelor of Education (Primary). I am lucky enough to have three spectacular kids who keep me smiling, laughing and loving. I am an on campus student at Springfield and like attending classes and workshops as I enjoy the face to face contact which seems to keep me motivated. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Reasons for using ICTs in the classroom. Confessions of an ICT Immigrant. Reasons for using ICTs in the classroom. Questions to ask yourself – Why do I want to use this particular bit of ICT in this way? What is the purpose? Is it a good one? ICT can help prepare the next generation for the future workplace;. The assumption is that to be a productive member of society from now and into the future, they will have to be effective users of digital technologies (ICT). ICT can make learning fun and engaging.
Gotta love those little preppies . . . | kerryschwenke

Reasons for using ICTs in the classroom. Confessions of an ICT Immigrant. Gotta love those little preppies . . . The top five things I loved about working with prep students . . . They are complete sticklers for routine, talk about being vocal when you dare deviate from their daily schedule. Their absolute honesty, whether that be telling you they love your shirt (or hate it), or oversharing information you probably didn’t need to know. Their view on the world, they are just so straight up no grey areas.

Reasons for using ICTs in the classroom. Confessions of an ICT Immigrant. Thank god it’s over! Well it’s finally over – hooray! Not to say that I didn’t learn a lot in this course and I even feel a little bit smarter for it, but talk about exhausting. EDC3100 felt like the equivalent of three subjects put together some weeks, so I’ll be honest and say I’m glad to see the back of you! Good luck to you all, I hope you have an awesome holiday. Reasons for using ICTs in the classroom. Confessions of an ICT Immigrant. The joys of sharing. ICT aside, the sheer amount of resources my mentor teacher had amassed in her twenty plus years of teaching was mind boggling. She was kind enough to offer some suggestions on how to begin my own collection starting with the sites below. Thought I would share these with you, they have some great start up resources for when we have our very own classrooms one day and they are all free. June 11, 2015.

Using ICTs on Prac. June 14, 2015. If you read my post ‘7 Sleeps’. You would now that one of my main concerns for prac this semester was how I would integrate ICTs into my teaching and students learning experiences. Technology use is not one of my strengths, though I do feel I am fairly competent. Upon meeting my mentor teacher I was told that I had access to an interactive whiteboard, five laptops within the classroom (others could be borrowed), and four iPads. My first thought was great! Brendan Turner's Blog. ICT: Involve Creative Thinking. May 9, 2015. I was searching through a few of my followers blogs and I came across Tayla’s. Blog in which she writes about QR codes. If you aren’t sure what QR codes are, they are a square of black and white pixels – you may have seen them on the side of some products that you have previously bought. These QR codes can be scanned through an app on your phone in which they will automatically link you to a certain website – pretty cool stuff. A science...

Goodbye, Goodbye, Good Friends Goodbye! June 14, 2015. So as you may have guessed from the title it is time to say goodbye to EDC3100. This will be my last blog post for the semester. NEVER take Candy from a Stranger! May 10, 2015. When I was growing up my parents always told me to never take candy from a stranger. Footprints in the Sand. May 10, 2015. May 10, 2015. We all know that what we put out there on the World Wide Web is there for good, but how often do we forget this. Welcome to My Photography Blog. I take a very photojournalistic approach to photography. Natural, genuine expressions are what I strive to capture. So, just be yourself and relax. I let children play, run and laugh to catch the smile, the giggle, the faraway stare, even the frown. I want to capture the true personality of my subjects in a relaxed setting. Family, wedding and engagement shots are creative and unique. Monday, October 19, 2009. Check out my Recent Shoots! Posted by Kerry Schutz Photography.

Kerry's Kitchen
What's cooking in my kitchen! Wednesday, May 21, 2008. I just tried this recipe. Straight from the Martha Stewart Everyday Food blog. I was running low on groceries (as well as the grocery budget for the week! And I basically had everything to make this. It turned out really tasty! The recipe says it serves 4, but it made a TON! Tony and I had seconds, and even a wee bit of thirds each, and there is still plenty left for a few more meals. 8 ounces (8 slices) bacon, cut 1 inch thick crosswise (. I was a l...
