From post-natal oblivion to recovery. I was sitting in my hospital bed when I first realised I wasn’t right in the head. I’d noticed a few odd things but, in between feeding, pumping, changing and nursing, my brain had failed to join them up. Liam was five days old. We were back in hospital after he’d started turning fluorescent yellow. Then, after four hours of waiting in emergency, the news that we’d have to be readmitted to treat Liam’s jaundice. But I don’t have a bag with me! I don’t have underwear!
