About piecing and quilting and the life that happens around them. Sunday, 16 August 2009. Links to this post. Saturday, 15 August 2009. Due to many things this winter, we have not gone walking as we normally do. However this Sunday past the usual suspects went of to Boyagin Rock, a fantastic granite rock 40kms north east of here off the York Williams Rd. Took our lunch and a cake to share and what a wonderful day we had, clambering all over this marvellous huge rock. And no hat all day. Links to this post.

This little beauty was made by Jane, is a design by Helen Stubbings of Hugs 'n Kisse. S called "T'was the Night Before Christmas"; and while it is not very big, there is a lot of detail in the stitcheries and it has lots of little stars. Some of the happenings in my life as a longarmer, wife, mother and friend. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Sorry about the terrible colour in these pics, I couldn't manage a close up with the right colours. Obviously I can't use my camera properly. Anyway this beauty was made by Marg for a family wedding. It is pieced both by hand and machine and hasn't she done a great job? It is quilted both freehand and on the Statler. The freehand is the SID and the continuous curve in the rings. Sisters in Quilting: Workroom Setup
http://sistersinquilting.blogspot.com/2009/05/workroom-setup.html
Friday, May 22, 2009. To the right is our sewing area, we have two machines set up, one for binding and one for simple piecing. I collect vintage sewing machines, so there's no lack of machines to sew on. Even our carpet is patchwork; we bought 5 remnants and stuck them together to cover this large area. I love the old floral carpet, it's about 30 years old, and so many of our customers recognise the pattern when they come in. It must have been very popular years ago. The pins stay in the leaders all the...

I saw this quilt on ebay years ago and loved the unusual design. Quite by chance I found it again recently on the Stella Rubin Antique quilt. Site I had about four of the blocks sewn together, and lots of four patches but they were scattered around in various places in my sewing room. I don't know what I'll do for the borders yet, but I still have piles and piles o...
