Follies in Rural Virginia. Sunday, January 11, 2009. Hens Home At Last. Nate worked for days to get our new coop up and functional. He and his nephew, Jason, who was visiting with his girlfriend, Elizabeth, finished the final touches on Thursday morning. They fastened the last of the chicken wire to the structure and then all three headed down to Amherst to pick up Wilhelmina and Blanche. . The new coop. Moveable and capable of housing approx. 6 hens. They are the nesting boxes! I LOVE THAT JACK!

My friend Sarah arrived yesterday evening and we had such a nice time, relaxing at home, cooking dinner, and talking. It might be the last quiet evening we'll have as unmarried folk. YIKES! Follies in Rural Virginia. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Kate and Marisa Head to the Farm. So Local Food Hub is opening this summer. We've raised a bunch of cash and now it's time to hit the farms and get our heads where they need to be. Spent the day at two of our favorite farms, and unfortunately only have photos from one.
