Prairie Tales: June 2014
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
New country, new adventures. June 29, 2014. Just Me and My Mom. One of Annabel's favorite books is Mercer Meyer's Just Me and My Mom. This month we have plenty of time to practice the scenes! Eric took a work trip to South Africa for 10 days, was home of 4 and then off to California for half a week. It's conference season, but be in-between presentations, he is able to have fun. He was able to meet up with our friends Cameron and Brent and they took in a baseball game and lots of golf. One very rainy Sat...

New country, new adventures. April 20, 2014. Happy, Happy Easter! Happy Easter to all of our friends and family! We hope you are all enjoying a nice dinner together. We will join in our hearts from afar. We have been enjoying our four day (yes! Easter weekend so far. Even though Eric has spent most of Friday and Saturday grading essays I'm sure he now wishes he hadn't assigned, we've been able to do some fun Easter activities. We made homemade play dough. It brought back memories of my parents making...

Prairie Tales: Welcome Hadley Emelia!
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2015/02/welcome-hadley-emelia.html
New country, new adventures. February 19, 2015. We are so thrilled to welcome our new daughter Hadley Emelia into our family! She is so sweet and calm and we look forward to many happy moments with her. She was born Monday January 12, 2012 via scheduled c-section at 4:14pm. She weighted 6lbs 7 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Eric and I, and many family members, had once again guessed boy and larger than Annabel (she was 7 lbs, 7 oz), but we were wrong. Check out the umbilical cord. Amazing. Nkle, T i.

Prairie Tales: August 2013

New country, new adventures. August 19, 2013. Going to The Lake is a big thing around here. Oftentimes church is near empty in the summer because everyone is at The Lake. This past weekend, we got a chance to go with Eric's co-worker to their family cabin on Emma Lake, which is a little over 2 hours north of Saskatoon. The main beach was packed on such a beautiful day. Eric and Bill went to watch the Rider game. Annabel took a nap and I got to sit on this porch and read a magazine! Links to this post.

Prairie Tales: October 2013
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
New country, new adventures. October 27, 2013. We know we have limited time before the snow and cold hits, so last weekend we took a getaway to Edmonton, Alberta. Edmonton is about 6 hours Northwest of Saskatoon and about three times the population (Saskatoon around 300,00 and Edmonton around 900,00). Six hours drive for a weekend away still seems a bit far for my mind, but if you recall, distance is relative. This was a great playground where she could just play on her own. This airplane was so cool:.

Prairie Tales: Visitors from Wisconsin
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2015/04/visitors-from-wisconsin.html
New country, new adventures. April 26, 2015. When Hadley was three weeks old (she is 3.5 months now! They were here during an extreme cold snap so we stayed indoors at our place most of their visit. We did manage to go to Annie. All week Grandma tried to talk Annabel into watching Frozen. Which Grandma had brought for a gift, but every time she suggested it, Annabel would look at her like it was a horrible idea and say "no, let's watch Cars. On their last night, we just put Frozen. Since their visit, we ...

Prairie Tales: January 2015
http://ericandheathermicheels.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
New country, new adventures. January 09, 2015. We can't believe it. Monday is the day. A family of four! The plan is for baby to arrive shortly after 1:30pm. It's a bit weird to have it planned out this time, but nice too. It's been bitter cold and windy this week, but by the time we go to the hospital and bring baby home, it will be much more bearable.-13 C (8 F) at the lowest. This weekend we are focusing on family time and final preparations, the best we can. And playing the name game.

New country, new adventures. October 25, 2014. Summer Trip to Wisconsin. Grandma got a big hug and smiles when we finally arrived after day two of driving. Our friends, Brent and Paola, and their little guy Lucas came to visit us at my parents house for a couple days! They are friends we met in Illinois, but now they live in Michigan. We were so thankful they went out of their way to visit! Annabel and Lucas had a lot of fun even though sharing was not their strong point! Reading with Great Grandma.
