Thursday, September 9, 2010. I can definetly understand why Mala and Vladek's marriage is much worse then Anna and Vladek's marriage. Vladek's one true love was and still is Anna, so he always compares Mala to Anna which is why everything Mala does is wrong, because she is so much different then Anna. He stands by his beliefs and honors his promises, no matter how long ago they were made. To begin I want to comment on the way the author illustrated the characters. I thought creating the jewish characters as mice was a great idea because it properly demonstrated the way the nazi propaganda portrayed the jewish people to the rest of the populace.
