Kevin in Korea

Tuesday, 19 August 2008. Kevin Goes to the Doctor. Ok, this isn't exactly travel related. and that has been what I've tried to focus this blog on. Still, my nagging back pains did stop me from taking off this last weekend, so this post is somewhat travel related. and I did walk to the clinic. That is travel, isn't it? In any case, I've got two weeks of physio to get my back healthy again. that shouldn't break the bank. I did bring my camera to work. I want to take more photos! Posted by Kevin Storey.

Kevin in Korea: May 2008

http://kevininkorea.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Monday, 12 May 2008. Hi Seoul Spring Festival. One of the better shots of the City Hall Plaza. This area was dubbed the Digital Palace, and it was pretty neat. The entire plaza was covered with the Eight Color Ball which basically was an inverted dome that changed colors. There were three stages, and behind the main stage was a wall of water screens that had video projected on them. Closeup of the LED lights overhead. Like I said, I was a bit far away. The lanterns at the front entrance were still lit up.

Kevin in Korea: Time Lapse Experimentry

http://kevininkorea.blogspot.com/2008/08/time-lapse-experimentry.html

Sunday, 17 August 2008. 1st - this is a night shot time lapse overlooking the Han River close to where I live. This was a continuous burst of 12 second exposures over a period of one hour. 2nd - this is a series of 3 sets of shots. The first is looking down at the entry to the Cheonggyecheon. The 2nd is from a bridge looking at the waterfall. The 3rd is of a fountain further down the waterway. Each set consists of shots taken 5 seconds apart over roughly 5 minutes. 21 January 2009 at 13:07.

Kevin in Korea: Another Walk Along the Cheonggyecheon

http://kevininkorea.blogspot.com/2008/08/another-walk-along-cheonggyecheon.html

Sunday, 17 August 2008. Another Walk Along the Cheonggyecheon. The Cheonggyecheon has an Olympic theme going on right now, so the plaza is set up like a track. There were several large TVs around showing various live events. I spent about 20 minutes at the plaza taking pictures for the first part of the time lapse video. Then I headed down to the walkway along the water. Entry to the Cheonggyecheon. Everything was very, very green. 17 August 2008 at 23:27. Lovely pics and love the blog. I didnt go to...

http://kevininkorea.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, 8 June 2008. It seems like when I do things, I one kind of thing over and over until I get tired of it. I attended festivals three weeks in a row… first, the butterfly festival. And then the Hi Seoul Festival. I was festivaled out. Then I did sports… baseball. Which I didn’t write about but you can still see the pictures). This weekend was fortresses. On Friday I went to Hwasong Fortress. I’ve been to Namhansansong several times in the past, and I’ve enjoyed the outing every time. It’s only...

Kevin in Kisumu

Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Back in the States. Sunday, July 24, 2011. Final blog from Kisumu. It was so funny. I had to explain to him that the Knights of Columbus do these things through charitable works and no through swords and on horseback. It was such a funny conversation. It is about a general who wakes up in the middle of the night on the eve of battle, and decides that he doesn't want his men to fight. The chorus goes like this:. He said: I have seen the others,. And I have discovered. This experi...

My journey through southeastern Africa. Wednesday, August 25, 2010. After visiting many churches, we made a special trip to go back and get the Landcruiser from Blantyre. We got up early and drove the 200 kilometers of terrible roads to Milange where I had to leave Marlon due to a small problem with papers. I took pictures and went inside. There was some sort of celebration going on. Of course it’s not! Nope, many times the crew leaders are wrong! Make silly faces while driving, of course! We didn’...
