They've decided to try to get rid of some of the fluid still in the feet, legs, scrotum, by having him take lasix once a day, every OTHER day. This should be easier on the kidneys. Once again, most of these medications have a positive and a negative side, so it's a question of balancing the body's needs without incurring damage. On a positive note, Kevin has excellent liver numbers, a normal potassium level (4.7), and a normal creatinine level (1.1). In addition, as of last Tuesday, his AFP (tumor marker) went down to 42.4, a significant decrease in the right direction. You probably recall that it was in the 90's the last time it was measured.
