The punishment race game is part of my specialization project. The idea is that I wanted to check if a race mechanic can be explained in a way that the players experience it in a different way. For instance that when you explain it in a positive way (the game helps you for being bad) there might be a difference in interpretation then when you explain it in a negative way (the game punishes the ones who do well).

Ice Breaker is a game we made as a group in a class called experimental game design. In this class we wanted to do something inspiring using a ping pong table, the table uses sensors under the table and an Arduino to triangulate the position of the ping pong ball hitting the table. The game is 6 player max, 2 players will play ping pong and maximum of 4 players control the penguins using controllers. The objective of the penguins is to collect bombs and deliver them to the castle in the middle.

Adobe After Effects is primarily used for creating motion graphics and visual effects. After Effects allows users to animate, alter and composite media in 2D and 3D space with various built-in tools and third party plug-ins, as well as individual attention to variables like parallax and user-adjustable angle of observation. I found music that captures the mood of the menu. a relaxing sound with an Asian theme. The interface uses Aftereffects to make the video and you can view the results below.

In this Temple landscape I used Houdini to develop a procedural landscape with temples trees and a pedestal with a vase. The temple is completely procedural, that means that the pillars are generated depending on the width and length of the temple. The stairs can be modified with a certain numbers of steps. I used a grid that gets projected on top of the landscape to position the temples. When a temple gets placed on the landscape, the landscape is being flattened to accommodate the temple.

IceBreakers is a game for three to six players that takes place on a ping pong table. The table was built using the PingPong. Instructions provided by the MIT Media Lab. During this project I was the programming lead, dividing the tasks and ensuring they are done in time. I was also responsible for implementing a part of the gameplay and getting the ping pong table to work. The ping pong table set up. The game during gameplay. February 2014 - April 2014. Tank Takeover is an arena arcade-style local multiplayer game for two to four players. It was made during the last seven weeks of a Gamelab. In the case of programming work I mostly worked on the tank movement, game controls (in the menus and during gameplay), and implementing the in-game user interface. Showing by the Dutch Game Garden. Tank Takeover was entered into the Online Finals of the Games competition of the Imagine Cup. But did not get past the first round. The game being played at Gamescom 2013.
