The countdown to the wedding goes apace, invitations were addressed last night. We are a go, Houston, t minus 69 days and counting. The big question in my mind is, "what's next? Cataphract Musings: January 2005
http://mauricebasilius.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 31, 2005. Mondays and Sunny Days. I suppose paradise always has its down side, karmac balance and all. California is rife with karma and coincidence, at least for me. I was not born here, my home is Pennsylvania, Harrisburg to be exact. I went to school in upstate New York (SUNY Ithaca, for those that get the joke). I spent years in Rhode Island, New York, Virginia, and New Jersey. And I was divorced here. A second time. And we are getting married and having the reception on the beach.

Cataphract Musings: May 2005
http://mauricebasilius.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 31, 2005. And they lived happily ever after. I think maybe this time, I just might lay claim to that particularly fairy tale ending. Of any more. However, I realized pretty early on that the decision to cleave to a 37 year old woman who had never had kids and generally loves them was a decision to have more, and I am fully expecting a third family. Suprisingly, all the iinsanity seems finally, dare I say it? Where to start. Well there once was this girl named Val. Monday, May 23, 2005. I rem...

http://mauricebasilius.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 26, 2005. Yikes, twenty days and no posts, Maurice is slacking off. Reality is, I am in the middle of a lot of stuff, and blogging will have to take a back seat. Personal and professional life have both ramped up, and I am sitting for a professional exam mid Dec, so it is taking a lot of time. Alas, Blogging will be much less. A couple of things. Probably nothing, but worst case bone cancer". So there is my super power. I am Super Dense! Other than that, all is well. I will write more ...

Cataphract Musings: December 2004
http://mauricebasilius.blogspot.com/2004_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 27, 2004. Beginnings are a time for delicate balances. I suppose, that given that I have arranged to stumble into just about every major movement of my lifetime, that it is high time I tried this blog thing. That, and today I have a little time to kill, and my co workers appreciate my not singing. Oh well, the money was wasted. Every movement, you say? Well, no way to know unless one tries, so here we go, mixed metaphors, confused tenses and all. Posted by Maurice Basilius at 4:50 PM.

Cataphract Musings: April 2005
http://mauricebasilius.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 17, 2005. We are now at 20 days and counting to the wedding, two more weekends to prep and then the big day. I am down to buying a suit for my son, today we bought shoes and a shirt for me to go with the new black suit and back up shoes for the fiance. We are ready, time for wedding bells once again. I suppose she continues to press those buttons in me, and my dream life suffers as a result. I know myself well enough to know that this is going on. I am attracted most often to the desper...

Cataphract Musings: June 2005
http://mauricebasilius.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 30, 2005. So Clairbell asks, "What is a Cataphract? Well, specifically, it is the term used by the later Romans and Byzantine's to describe Roman heavy calvary. The core of the Byzantine army were the Cataphracts, horse soldiers that were trained to use lance, sword and bow. Hannibal lost that one. By the third century, calvary had changed dramatically, mostly due to the invention of the stirrup, which allowed soldiers to sit more firmly in their mounts. The barbarians combined the cla...

Cataphract Musings: July 2005
http://mauricebasilius.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 15, 2005. So Wife and I are planning a trip to Greece for the honeymoon, Rhodes, Santorini, maybe parts of Crete. We are both accomplished travelers and eschew the traditional planned trip/cruise/tour route, so we are planning our own. Last night we were on the computer up in the office, working out flights and hotels, when she turns to me and says (without really thinking). Can I give you a Greece Job? To which I replied "Honey, what are you going to use for a strap-on? I actually had some ...
