I am an architect with an interest in old buildings and the historic environment. I studied architecture at Kingston Polytechnic and later did an MA in Building Conservation at York University. I am based in Battersea in London. I was a consultant to Historic Royal Palaces from 1994 to 2004. From 1994-97 I worked on repair projects at Hampton Court Palace. I am also a consultant to the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. In 2003 I was architect for the conservation and repair of St. Michael's Church Tower.

Repairs to St Michael's Church Tower, 2003. Scaffolding and other equipment was lifted to the summit by helicopter. The works included repair of the parapet, rebuilding of parts of the south wall and repointing. The works were carried out in 2003 by St Blaise Conservation Ltd. Above: St Michael’s church tower in August 2003. My 1999 condition report made recommendations for repairs to the tower and site improvements. Conservation of historic buildings. St Mary's church, Summerstown, London. The church was designed by Godfrey Pinkerton and built from 1902-04. The tower was never built but it is an imposing building nevertheless. It is listed Grade II. I carried out a quinquenntial survey in 2006. Fundraising to carry out the repairs is now underway. I produced the six isometric drawings contained in the publication, working in collaboration with engineers Alan Baxter and Associates. The drawings were front and back views of an early Georgian house, a late Georgian house, and an early Victorian house. Copies of the guide can be obtained free of charge from English Heritage.
