But I digress . . . Friday, January 21. My glory, and the lifter of my head. I look forward to spring, to my roses and my herbs and the cats rolling around in the patches of sunlight. I want the sun on my face and the smell of clean earth on my hands. Oh, and I splurged on Amazon.com and bought some used copies of some of my old textbooks from my grad studies in Ireland. The Alliterative Revival is so much more exciting than it sounds. and I’ve begun to read in Old English again. Links to this post.

anstruther: Sourdough Breads
http://anstruther.blogspot.com/2012/03/sourdough-breads.html
But I digress . . . Monday, March 12. I posted a picture of a dough made with natural yeast; here are the results! There are two different types of bread. With one I made a pretty typical sourdough loaf. It is a little dark for my liking, but once I master the technique I will hopefully be able to produce a stretchy, shiny, golden crust. Taste was not affected. Tastes just fine. Yum. As of this blog entry, neither of these creations now exist, or at least they exist in wildly different, digested. Codices...

But I digress . . . Friday, November 12. Cum dilatasti cor meum. This is a long, personal entry that has the words "feelings" and "emotions" in it, as well as using several bad analogies, and it does not end happily (though it does end hopefully). Consider yourself warned. What kind of a person am I becoming if I let fear conquer my trust in God? Soon he’ll bring me justice- my faith, tho timid, remains. Links to this post. But I digress . . . Tuesday, June 22. Some of which have not yet taken off like I wish they would (you can't have everything). For the present, though, the blooming lavender and chamomile are giving me enough to do on my weekends. These are my four lavender plants (two English and two French). We just planted them in late summer of last year and they have been remarkably happy in their partially sunny spot. The Wagnerian mutant on the left of the photo is lemon balm. Links to this post. But I digress . . . Friday, April 27. Excerpt from a letter to a friend, written about three weeks ago. You know when you were thinking about going into permaculture and I didn't really get it? I mean, I thought it was moderately interesting and a responsible discipline but I never truly adopted any independent enthusiasm for the subject. But now! My latest dream (a pipe dream, probably, but still- everyone needs a dream. Is to be a homesteader. I want a small farm. And it seems that you have to have a c...

But I digress . . . Monday, May 24. She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with double-knit. Some of my first laceweight yarn I am knitting into an Estonian lace scarf by one of my favorite designers: it shall be pretty and delicate and possibly good enough for the county fair:) The design looks like little ferns and lilies of the valley, but you have to look pretty close; the whole thing is rather wispy and soft.
