Letting in the Light: New Stamps from Seth Apter
http://khenkel.blogspot.com/2015/07/new-stamps-from-seth-apter.html
The creative meanderings of Kim Henkel . . . . . Wednesday, July 15, 2015. New Stamps from Seth Apter. Is a mixed media artist,. Author, teacher and art community maker/gatherer. He is just releasing a new line of stamps,. And sent me the set 'Pattern Play' to have fun with. The set includes - 'Mosaic Tile'. I played in my usual style of stamping onto a variety of papers. Which I proceeded to rip into tiny pieces and glue together. My 'Patterned Play' stamped bits became. That my trees grew from. July 16...
Letting in the Light: Collection of Pins
http://khenkel.blogspot.com/2015/06/collection-of-pins.html
The creative meanderings of Kim Henkel . . . . . Monday, June 29, 2015. These collection of pins have been in my mind. And on my work table for months. They are made from pieces of scrape metal for the backing. With a piece of recycled paper that I painted and stamped over. And then covered with resin. I picture them being worn separately or in groups of two or three. I pinned them onto mailing tags that I joined together so they can stand up. June 29, 2015 at 10:56 AM. June 29, 2015 at 11:47 AM.
Letting in the Light: April 2015
http://khenkel.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
The creative meanderings of Kim Henkel . . . . . Sunday, April 26, 2015. I have so many unfinished items on my desk these days,. But I finally finished a couple of small pocket books. I decorated the covers with bits of a copy of a drawing I did,. And added some texture and colour. The pages inside the book are actually pockets. That are decorated in a similar manner to the covers. This book is decorated with paint, bits of paper, and stamps rather than a drawing. Links to this post. For the Love of Play.
Letting in the Light: Bowl Making ..... Again
http://khenkel.blogspot.com/2015/08/bowl-making-again.html
The creative meanderings of Kim Henkel . . . . . Monday, August 3, 2015. Bowl Making . Again. I have been on a bowl making spree. I made the forms out of egg cartons that I soaked. And pulverized into pulp. The forms were covered with emptied tea bags and paint. Then other paper, and sometimes drawings or images were added. They have a final coat of paste wax to seal them. These bowls can't hold soup,. But I can imagine them holding some of my. Rock or shell or feather collections. These are so lovely!

So not sure when I will get back to playing in this little journal. That I enjoy so much. May 9, 2015 at 4:31 AM.

Charlton Stitcher: January 2015
http://charltonstitcher.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Working with mixed media stitched textiles gives me great pleasure. As well as the joy in the art of making and exploring, there are the friendships formed as work grows. Wednesday, 28 January 2015. Back and front stitched sketch. I have been experimenting with stitch since Christmas. Several ideas are running around in my head, all seeming still to involve black and white at the moment, with just occasional splashes of colour from time to time. Sunday, 25 January 2015. January, with all its cold greynes...

Working with mixed media stitched textiles gives me great pleasure. As well as the joy in the art of making and exploring, there are the friendships formed as work grows. Monday, 27 July 2015. Playing with pixels, windows and bridges. I'm going to eastern Scotland and the Orkney Islands soon and I'm going to take print outs of some images that I've generated as a result of the Pixeladies. Working with mixed media stitched textiles gives me great pleasure. As well as the joy in the art of making and exploring, there are the friendships formed as work grows. Sunday, 28 December 2014. Cotswolds and New Year greetings. Before Christmas, I was so busy preparing for the arrival of family visitors that my intended post didn't appear. Tuesday, 26 May 2015. Textures of the outback . There has been much experimenting again in the studio this week. For the moment I have put the story of our land on hold though having had some very good ideas from my partner Steve about how I can present the work, I am pretty excited about getting back to it soon. In April I did a workshop with Noela Mills. I bought some transparent paper from Sydney and have been working on it, seeing how I can make marks and get some textures. Playing with different...

Sunday, February 28, 2016. Links to this post. Friday, February 5, 2016. So, I decided to scrape some white across parts of the piece. I put some plastic wrap over that and let it dry overnight. This is the result:. I filled in some of the shapes left by the plastic wrap and I do like this part of the piece. It reminds me of mysterious ancient writing:. Next I mixed titanium white and ultramarine blue, and scraped them over other areas. Now It's becoming more interesting. Links to this post.

http://kerriemaloney.blogspot.com/2015/08/chocolate-and-orange-truffle-slice.html
Thursday, 13 August 2015. Chocolate and Orange Truffle Slice. I like to play around with a recipe, developing new ideas or adapting the ingredients to a new flavour or from a biscuit to a slice or cake. Some times things work out better than others and sometimes you can save a flop by making it into something else. You can read about saving a previous disaster here. The resulting Chocolate and Orange Truffle Slice had a delicious orange flavour from the addition of the mixed peel and liquer. Dark cho...
tracemarks: healing .....
http://trace-marks.blogspot.com/2015/05/healing.html
Monday, 4 May 2015. I have been away - not physically but emotionally. I am posting on this gap because to give it no space would mean I was not acknowledging the hugeness of a sadness within. This is not meant to be sad 'post' but rather one to say that I am moving on now, glad she is at peace. A quote that I read in Donna's. I go to nature be be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order. Last week I did just that when I visited the Personal Histories Exhibition at Cleveland Art Gallery.
