Ovviamente era uno scherzo, e noi tutti ci mettevamo a ridere con lui perchè conoscevamo il vero significato di quelle parole, voleva dirci che invece di pensare con la testa stavamo pensando con i piedi. L'obiettivo della macchina fotografica ti si appanna in una frazione di secondo. prima di stabilizzarsi ci vorrà un po'. Pozzi, meandri, stalattiti, stalagmiti, cristalli che brillano sulle pareti, "tendine" da tutte le parti, eccentriche, spaccature sulla volta che si perdono nel buio facendoti immaginare passaggi nascosti che nessuno vedrà mai. È decisamente questa la sensazione che si prova arrivando qui, quella di essere sbarcati su un altro pianeta. Si è alzato l'elicottero per mandarlo via.pare sia salito dal fiordo che quest'anno è completamente trasformato in pack.è da lì che arrivano, quando il mare ghiaccia tutto e puoi andarci anche in motoslitta. Eh sìecco finalmente una tempesta di neve coi fiocchi (in tutti i sensi). Non ti sei ancora abituato a riconoscere il colore del cielo che ti sta sopra, che è già cambiato tutto. Worst weather in the very last days. 16 febbraio 201, ore 12.il primo raggio di Sole colpisce la cima del Naesfjellet (dovrebbe essere questo il nome) e sancisce la fine della lunga notte polare.

Sonntag, 17. April 2011. Helicopter Flight to Nathorstbreen. Am Montag 28. März hatte ich die unglaublich tolle Möglichkeit an einem Helikopterflug teilzunehmen. Mein Master-Supervisor Doug Benn hatte sich für 1,5 Stunden einen Helikopter gemietet und wollte in den Süden Svalbards fliegen um den surgenden (schnellfliessenden) Gletscher Nathorstbreen zu fotographieren. Er hatte zwei Plätze frei und so durfte Harold, einer seiner PhD Studenten, und ich mit. :) :) :) :) :). Es war wahnsinnig toll! Exkursion...
