TRKAVR - APRS Tracker. ATMEGA324 based APRS tracker board. Interfaces to NMEA GPS source (SirfIII boards work great). Dual purpose output - can be wired to a single PTT/Audio input like on the Yaesu VX-170 or can be connected to a rig like the Yaesu FT-1802 that uses separate PTT and audio input pins. PC Interface - Interfaces Yaesu VX-170 to a PC. Time to program my VX-170 transceivers and using the keypad is definitely more work than it's worth. So, found a schematic on the web, layed out a PCB and downloaded the excellent software from G4HFQ and I was good to go! You can download the schematics (PDF) here. Installing a Little Tarheel HF antenna on an 80 series Land Cruiser. I initially installed a Yaesu FT1802 2m only rig in our 80. It was cheap and easy to install and got us on the air. The 80 became the 'base' while on camping trips and we used 2m HT's to communicate back to the base when on hikes. Since I already had installed the 2m rig before I had an VHF/UHF antenna already in place and ready to go. All that was necessary was to select a HF antenna and install it. See below (end of this webpage).

Prototype vs JQuery or Where did Prototype go? July 9, 2014. First of all, no, Prototype. Isn’t completely gone, yet. I know I didn’t expect it either. Shouldn’t really be compared with JQuery. Is just an easy way to write JavaScript and Prototype. Type is entirely different abstraction of the JavaScript language but for the sake of argument let’s say that they are comparable. Several years ago Prototype was the popular framework for JavaScript and then JQuery appeared and Prototype was kinda forgotten.
