FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS and OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF. Do we really have to paddle for 3 or 4 hours? No The morning and lunch tours do take about 3-4 hours from start to finish, but actual paddling time varies between approx. 1.5 hours 2 hours. A lot depends on the client. We like you to experience. Nature at your own pace’. So if you prefer to paddle a little way and spend the rest of the time just relaxing on a sandy beach, or swimming, or birdwatching or fishing, that’s fine! Am I too old to paddle?

For up to six (6) people (minimum 2) departing from and returning to our lovely grassed picnic area by the river. Start early and finish before lunch (morning tour) or start mid morning and enjoy lunch on the river (lunch tour). For up to four (4) people (minimum 2) downriver to the river mouth, where lunch will be served on the beach. Take time out to wander around the famous Davidson’s Historic Whaling Station. Or have a swim before we return on the incoming tide. 2 hour Family Tour. We can go upriver.

Our river is home to a huge variety of birds. Including Australia’s largest raptors – the mighty Wedge-tailed Eagle and the magnificent White-bellied Sea Eagle. There are forest dwellers, shore birds, pelicans and more, including the shy Superb Lyrebird – who cheekily confuses the listener by mimicking other bird calls.
