Instructors - Ki Aikido Scotland. David started aikido in 1982 at the University of Strathclyde ki aikido club which was part of the East Kilbride club. He started his own club in 1988 as a blue belt when working in Lincoln and resumed training at East Kilbride in 1990, passing his 1st dan in 1992 and 2nd dan in 2002. Gavin started training at the University of Strathclyde ki aikido club in 1994 and passed his 1st dan in 2003. Brian joined East Kilbride club in 1997 and passed his 1st dan in 2003.

About Us - Ki Aikido Scotland. The club is very welcoming to beginners, who are encouraged to drop in to have a go. We are an indepedent Ki Aikido club, training according to the principles of SHIN SHIN TOITSU DO (unification of mind and body) and SHIN SHIN TOITSU AIKIDO (Aikido with mind and body unified) as taught by Sensei Koichi Tohei. Our training emphasises the application of mind-body co-ordinated principles to daily life, to promote relaxation and confidence, as well as to Aikido techniques.

Sensei Matt Tennant - Ki Aikido Scotland. Sensei Matt Tennant has studied aikido for over 50 years and continues to develop his art and his students. His aikido journey started in 1958 when aikido was still relatively new to UK and he was one of the early students in Scotland, initially studying under Tom Weir. Training - Ki Aikido Scotland. Classes are open to anyone who is interested. Feel free to come along to join in or watch. Training is every Monday and Wednesday at the John Wright Sports Centre. On Calderwood Road in East Kibride. It is 5 minutes drive from both the East Kilbride town centre and the Whirlies roundabout. Juniors may train from age 14 but will be training along with the seniors, there is no separate junior class. They will generally train only from 8pm to just after 9pm. Upstairs - GP Room.

Attraverso la disciplina marziale, ho esercitato il mio corpo e conosciuto i suoi segreti, ma soprattutto ho compreso la natura dell'universo. Ho visto chiaramente che gli esseri umani devono unire mente e corpo, allora il Ki si armonizza con l'attività di tutte le cose. Quando si unifica mente e corpo si manifesta l'Ai-Ki, armonia del Ki ed il respiro e le tecniche scorrono liberamente. A volte i movimenti sono rapidi e potenti, altre volte lenti e imperturbabili. Ki-Aikido is een moderne verdedigingskunst die voortkomt uit de Japanse krijgskunsten (Budo). Bij Ki-Aikido besteden we aandacht aan verdedigingstechnieken, lichaamshouding, ademhalings- en meditatietechnieken en Ki-oefeningen.
