http://kickingthecword.blogspot.com/2013/07/catch-up-time.html
This is my journey starting from when I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and beyond! Wednesday, July 10, 2013. As I sit in my 150 sq ft. apartment (if you can even call it that) rental in Vancouver I have some time to take a breath and catch everyone up with the last week. It has been a crazy one so its nice to have a little unexpected downtime today. So this takes me to yesterday, stem cell collection day. Here is the cell separator machine. Woohoo. hence why I have some unexpected downtime today.

This is my journey starting from when I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and beyond! Friday, January 24, 2014. 6 months post transplant and we have some fun! Sure, fun, that is what we will call it. As some of you may not know all that happens during a stem cell transplant, the outcome is your immune system is wiped out and rebuilt. guess what happens when you wipe out a previously immunized immune system. You got it. you have no immunizations left in your system! No wonder babies scream, lol. Cancer...

Ok, Ok, I admit, I am really bad at this blogging thing. i will try to be better but I find it hard sometimes, or just dont know what to write anymore. My hematologist who has seen me since my relapse is very happy with how I am doing and transferred my care back to my primary oncologist, woohoo! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am 33 a...

This is my journey starting from when I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and beyond! Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Quick update- all is well. So I realize I kinda left this blog and my readers on a cliff hanger, I want to first off apologize for that. It was not my intention. It is my goal to start to write again, but I am struggling with the motivation to do so. So those of you who have hung in there, thank you. I will try not to leave you hanging so long next time. 26 year old law student trying to get rid of Hodgkins Disease. Chemo 4 5 and beyond. It’s been a while since I updated my progress. Chemo 4 was two weeks ago and it was one of the worst for me. I woke up that morning with anticipatory nausea…meaning that just the thought of having to get pumped full of poison and feel nauseous for 3-4 days was enough. As soon as I walk into the office, the smell sends my senses into an automatic nausea. Chemo #5 was yesterday…I did throw up during the chemo after g...

26 year old law student trying to get rid of Hodgkins Disease. I was pretty angry when I saw the preview on TV for the movie 50/50. Having been recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and starting off chemo, I wasn’t too happy that there was a movie about a cancer patient who uses his illness to pick up girls. That’s exactly what the preview portrayed and I came to the theater expecting to hate it. It’s not as dark but it’s something to look forward to. My doctor will let us know my fate on Friday reg...

July 16, 2015. Introducing container deposit legislation [CDL] (a 10 cent refund like they’ve had in South Australia since 1977) is the most important step Australia can take to restrict plastic pollution entering our oceans, killing wildlife and poisoning the marine environment that we all rely on. For more than ten years people have been campaigning for this simple scheme, the time has come to ACT!

This is my journey starting from when I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and beyond! Thursday, February 27, 2014. So my computer decided to crap out so haven't updated in a bit. Last oncology appointment was good. Dr is very happy with how I am recovering and feeling. Was quite impressed to hear I was back to the gym and resuming a pretty normal life. I am very fortunate to feel so good so fast, and taking advantage of it! So I will enjoy vacation and then go through the scanxiety! So yesterday was t...

But last night it finally had a competitor for that title. Having just arrived in the UK for the first time, the three hopefuls in Meet The Au Pairs had it terribly tough. For a start, they were quizzed by children. One interview even began with â Are there rabbits in Brazil? Â Whereâ s she from? Â When it comes to yo...
Welcome to Kicking the Dust | Kicking the Dust
Welcome to Kicking the Dust. Thanks for dropping by! This website is based on the research I did for my doctorate. It gives young farmers, policy makers and all interested people opportunity to explore my research in detail. Perhaps most importantly, it provides important additional information and resources, and opportunities for discussion and reconnection. My research was the result of three key ideas:. My own personal interest in farming. The work I’ve done in mental heath and rural communities.
