KidBook Nook: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
http://www.kidbooknook.com/2011/09/night-circus-by-erin-morgenstern.html
Thursday, September 22, 2011. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Buy This Book on Amazon. I want it made perfectly clear that The Night Circus. Is not a children's book. Nor is it middle grade fiction or a young adult novel. It may fit into a crossover category of its own, but for the most part its intended audience is that with some level of maturity. That is not to say that the content is. So why then, am I including this book in my KidBook blog? Or the next Twilight. Is the only way I can put my ex...

http://www.kidbooknook.com/2011/06/boy-who-grew-flowers-by-jen-wojtowicz.html
Thursday, June 23, 2011. The Boy Who Grew Flowers by Jen Wojtowicz. The Boy Who Grew Flowers. Illustrated by Steve Adams. Reading level: Ages 4-8. Publisher: Barefoot Books (2005). Buy This Book on Amazon. Sometimes, what makes a book truly inspiring is not so much the story as it is written, but the meaning behind why. It was written; the message it conveys becoming the purpose for telling it. Simply put, sophisticated writing that handles abstract ideas can often go over the heads of the intended young...

http://www.kidbooknook.com/2010/11/hunger-games-series-booknook-breakdown.html
Friday, November 5, 2010. The Hunger Games Series: BookNook Breakdown. The Hunger Games Series. Reading level: Young Adult. Buy The Hunger Games on Amazon. Buy Catching Fire on Amazon. Buy Mockingjay on Amazon. Collins balances the roughness of the story as well as we could have hoped, creating a dark world with bits of light, humor, and glimpses of happiness sprinkled through. These breaks in the clouds are what makes the tension so bearable and the long journey enjoyable. Can go on after all. The Girl ...

Books Written by Kids!
Sunday, April 20, 2008. Kids writing a book? You would be amazed. I have come across a great number of children who write better than most adults. Kids, teens, tweens are some of the most prolific and imaginative writers on the planet. Many Teachers who have to read their writing might disagree, but what we're finding is that creative writing is being taught 'old school' and it doesn't help kids. The reason is, creative writing for many children is no fun. They hit writer's block fast and hard. We use St...

The diary-style narration emphasizes Ruby's distinctly teenage response to society's end and her strong, spontaneous voice lends a touch of dark comedy to the post-apocalyptic doom and gloom. watching Ruby draw strength from her ability to tell her own story is as inspiring as it is harrowing" - The Horn Book Magazine. KID BOOK RATINGS
Just Who Is This Blog For? Emerging Raconteur In Kidlit Award. Worst Of The Worst. Buy These Books Today. My kid has decided to take over the stewardship of this project, as of today. Considering he reads about a thousand more pages than me per week, this only seems logical! I'll still be inputting the info online and helping him clean up phrasing, but it's 100% based on what comes out of his mouth. The Adventures of Gracie and MonkeyBear (Book 1). Looks like we're about to embark on another adventure!
Kid Book Review
If you like KBR…. July 29, 2013. Look, if you want the summary, you can Google it or Wikipedia it. Or you probably know the story, anyways. I’ve only read Book One. The book, being set in a complex post-apocalyptic society, would take at least 500 words for me to explain. This is my opinion. A lot of books make me cry. For goodness’ sake, I cried at least five times reading. The Lord of The Rings. And about twice a book when reading the Homelanders series (review coming soon! Recently on Kid Book Review.
