Sunday, May 24, 2009. Things around the farm have been unbelievably hectic lately. (Hence the lack of blog posts recently.) Our farmhand was gone for a month, so it was just Philip and I and an over abundance of work to be done. We plugged away and made it through. We finally have all the heifers home from Richard Stickneys. He raises them for us all winter. All the ones that were bred by the bull calved in pretty much all in the same week, and most all of them had heifer calves! Sunday, May 24, 2009.

Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Last post of 2008! Sunday, December 14, 2008. Fudge, Fudge and MORE Fudge! I have been making FUDGE all morning! I have made chocolate walnut fudge, plain chocolate fudge, chocolate coconut fudge, chocolate peppermint fudge! I still need to make the Peanut Butter Fudge, which is our personal favorite! I used the recipe on the back of the Nestles chocolate chip bag for Nestles Famous Fudge! 1 1/2 Cups granulated sugar. 2/3 Cups evaporated milk. 2 tbsp butter or margerine.

Monday, March 9, 2009. A sure sign that spring is on it's way! We tasted the syrup when it was quite done, and then again when it was all done! We watched as Stephen filtered the finished syrup and then Garrett helped him to grade it. FANCY! While we were waiting for the syrup to finish up, we went sledding on the little hill next to the sugarhouse. Boy was that FUN! We headed home when all was said and done, and two tuckered up little boys curled up on the couch with a movie. It was so much fun!

Sunday, May 24, 2009. Garrett will finish out his Kindergarten year on June 12th. It's a little bittersweet to see my little boy become a first grader. He on the other hand, is seriously excited. He has learned SO much this year, and changed so much. I am so proud of him. I am really looking forward to seeing what the next year brings, and all that he learns and accomplishes!
