Ultra Mega Ceramics: Back in the studio
http://ultramegaceramics.blogspot.com/2013/02/back-in-studio.html
Thursday, February 14, 2013. Back in the studio. So I have been out of the ceramic studio for almost two years. I am back at it. I have made one major change, I moved from porcelain to stoneware. I love porcelain I really do. the feel when you throw it. The whites you can get. it's just a beautiful clay. But it has it's down side specifically it's tougher to throw than other clays. Waiting for those tests . . . March 17, 2013 at 12:55 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Back in the studio. Funerary U...

Ultra Mega Ceramics: Most recent test tiles
http://ultramegaceramics.blogspot.com/2013/05/most-recent-test-tiles.html
Friday, May 3, 2013. Most recent test tiles. This first one is John Britt's Panama Red fired in oxidation with 0.5% silicone carbine added. It is really bubbly and pinholed. Not good. This is an iron yellow I have used in the past. This falls into the category I recently wrote about; good regardless of cooling schedule. This is a blue crystalline glaze. The crappy phone camera doesn't really capture the crystals but they're there. All the iron reds came out like this. Muddy. Most recent test tiles. Jen M...

Row’s India Journal. 4Ps and a Puddin. Row's Pottery Shed. Hi, my name is Rowena and I live in Sydney with my husband and 3 sons. I work in various eLearning consulting roles, but I also spend as much time as possible playing with clay! Somehow, I make these different worlds collide in a rather clumsy way, but that’s ok, cause I am having fun. I love art, craft, anything handmade and recycled/upcycled etc. Please feel free to post comments on my blog. 38 thoughts on “ About. March 5, 2010 at 4:35 pm.

The Cheerful Mind Project: January 2011
http://cheerfulmindproject.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 20, 2011. I will never use red clay in my home studio because I would never be able to clean it out of there - red clay infects everything! But, from time to time, I use red clay in class. I made this vase last summer. I carved the pattern in and glazed the bottom portion of the vase with celedon. I left the neck unglazed. Thursday, January 13, 2011. So me, and 28835 other people will submit our sketchbooks to be a part of this traveling exhibition. I sent in my finished book today!
